I still would prefer Meunier but you cant say no to top talent if Reece is the chosen fullback this summer.

PSG really seemed to take their defeat to us like children. For a club that doesn’t need money, and has previous for childish dealings in the transfer market as it is, I’d expect them to make things difficult dealing with us.
Yeah I like the sound of this. Him and Dalot rotating, and Young to come in, in case of injuries/suspensions/apocalypse
Menuier would be good business it would add some much needed experience in the back line, he's also at a good age and is very good going forward.

Always thought Meunier is overrated but if the price is right I wouldn't mind. Anything not to see Young getting 40+ starts next season.
I like the way the writer says Wan-Bissaka and Trippier are seen as longer-term solutions despite the fact Trippier is older than Meunier.

I do think atleast 2 of the above mentioned signings need to be leaders though. Since Zlatan, Carrick and Rooney left we’ve had a real void there. No one to take ownership and rally their team-mates on the field.

Because he's not as good as people on here seem to think he is. He's definitely better than what we have at the moment and a damn sight better than Trippier though.

Trippier was good last year. But he’s made mistake after mistake this year. Has to be AWB or Meunier.

Best defensive fullback in the league is AWB, I've got no idea why fans love these players coming from leagues that are no good.
Meunier has never been established at PSG with playing second fiddle to pensioner Dani Alves and even displaced by a youth prospect in Kehrer who is a centre half covering a fullback position. Those are pretty glaring signs, he's massively overrated AWB doesn't get the respect he deserves on this forum.

We need a readymade right-back. I don't rate Trippier much, other than his set pieces but that is no reason to buy him. Haven't seen much of Meunier because I don't watch French league football. Wan-Bissaka would be ideal as he is currently cutting it at this level and is young, but Palace would want £70 million plus I'd imagine. All I can tell you is that Young should be nowhere near starting next season.
But do we need another defensive FB? People are always moaning about Shaw because he's not good going forward. But people want AWB, I don't understand..
I think people appreciate AWB as a defensive player. There are questions about him going forward.
Change 'and Young to come in' for 'anyone other than Young to come in' and I'd agree.

But my biggest issue with him is that he's meh on the ball and not great going forward. He's very good defensively, but we already have one defensive FB. Sort out the DM & CB position and get a proper attacking RB. We have zero width down the flanks and Meunier can help us in that regard.
I know Meunier isn't all that great, but IMO he's the best option available. There are very few quality RBs out there and I don't see the point in buying another young inconsistent FB when we already have Dalot
Depend on the kind of team we want to build, for me a top team needs their fullbacks to contribute positively to their attack from little I have seen of Wan Bissaka he is fairly limited in attack and his passing also looks quite laboured ,anyway we already have one defensive fullback in Shaw and he is improving offensively as well so no to Wan Bissaka for me.
That's a myth to me, before Ole came in Shaw has never shown being competent defensively, he's positioning has been abysmal at times which has left space down the wide channel of his flank. Shaw's best quality for me is that he keeps the ball ticking when in possession, he plays like a central midfielder in a wide position, which is weird but important given we have few players who have a football brain.
His weaknesses are not attacking spaces in the wide areas as often as he should. He has the capabilities to do it that is proven with his time at Southampton and under LVG he was one of our best attacking players before his injury. Since his injury I think he has developed a psychological block from committing himself to make runs.
With how often Van Aanholt bombs forward overlapping, it makes sense that AWB is somewhat subdued. I've got a family relative who regularly goes to palace games being a local and he's said he contributes to the attacking at well when needed (he mistakes him for Zaha on occasion). Maybe a Palace fan can shed some light.

I'd rather not conceed nearly every game and be defensively sound again. AWB with time will get better and better at going forward. Dalot is the opposite good going forward, defensively not great. It's a good mix between the 2 and good competition.
The thinking behind it is probably bring in someone experienced for the right price, and that in a couple of years Dalot will be among the very best right backs around
And could give us the option of playing either dependent on who we are playing.

I think that's permissable given he had Mbappe, Neymar and Di Maria ahead of him, he's also had a full season under his belt and was benched largely in some of spurs fixtures when the likes of Ali / Eriksen / Kane and Son have been fit.
There's no reason why Meunier shouldn't be starting on a regular basis for PSG.
All top teams have very good FBs who are capable of crossing and providing width. If we want to be defensively solid, we should get a better CB and a mobile DM
No idea why we’re being linked with a RB, Young is awesome.
Perrera from Leicester is a better option than Meunier and AWB. They will flee us and probably cost 60m but it would be worth it.
