Reckon it's because he's joining them on a free, with wages that high surely no sign-on bonus for him.

Even if that is essentially amortising the sign-on fee, it still sounds like a lot. Well over the top in fact.

For example, if in the CEO's mind 150/400 comes out of the salary budget and 250/400 from the transfer budget it might seem more palatable. Till you realise that 250k pw is still about £40m over 3 years for Ramsey. Would anyone else pay him that sign-on fee or anywhere near?

Insane if true, this kind of deal will be the death of football as we know it, who's paying the wages ? Certainly not all those empty seats in the Allianz

What's Bayern Munich gotta do with it? I think the death of football for the average Joe was when Neymar moved for almost quarter of a billion.

Isn’t it usually a problem when signing players on a free transfer, that you have to pay more wages?

Also, as they are not paying a transfer fee, they can amortise this across the length of the contract.

They're saying the same thing. 400k is gross, 250k or so would be net I guess. English media report figures in gross, in Italy they report it as net.

7.5m net is 250k a week gross I think is what he is saying.

7.5m a year is about 145k a week net.

That's the name of the Juve stadium since 2017, probably need the naming rights to finance wages for Ronaldo and Ramsey ?
Can't believe I'm mentioning Ronnie in the same light as Ramsey !

Well that's disappointing, I'm dreading the day United sell the naming rights to Old Trafford.

You're right. Could be that BBC are maybe adding some kind of sign on fee to his total contract value to arrive to that 400k a week.

Whoever is still genuinely interested in Bale, needs their head checked.

- His calf muscle problems persist; he's missed a month this season again and we're only now entering the busy end.
- He's on ~600k pw which would be a huge pain in the backside when we get to renew contracts. If he fails to spark, we got another Sanchez situation on our hands.
- Whilst technically a great player with some amazing performances, he's struggled for consistency pre and post Ronaldo-era and has failed to become the main man and fulfil expectations.
- He's turned us down on any given opportunity.

Feck Bale
To learn spanish could have helped him to be the main man

And? Aguero doesn't speak English, still scores a shit load of goals.

Aguero does speak English (not brilliantly, but he does speak it) gave an interview just yesterday to Sky Sports after the Chelsea game with Sterling

No way is his sign on 40m also BBC said its his basic salary

That Suarez article literally barely even talks about Suarez:lol: Just says that it would be very unlikely to happen and moves onto some more BS
