Have Wolves spent more than us now?
Probably but they needed to add the required quality for the league.

Good. Set a deadline and move on if necessary.
David Maddock: "United were clear they will not go above £40million for the Belgium international defender, who will see his value plummet to just £25m in six months' time.
....Mourinho has told his club board to explore alternatives if Tottenham continue to play hardball over their valuation of around £55m for the 29-year-old."
I was arguing with a Chelsea fan recently about how pointless it is for young players to go there.
Another great example here, although they'd probably claim they "developed" him.

Can't we just buy him once?
Why would we pay twice for the same player? I would have thought buying Fellaini for much more than his release clause was bad enough ffs
Buy him twice? Levy, is that you?
Spurs would be happy with that
I've no doubt that Maddock has no clue as to what's happening behind the scenes and is simply guessing/making up stuff. That said this stance would make sense. feck paying +60m for 29yo CB who's got a release clause active in 6 months.
£40m sounds reasonable. That prices this season at £15m. That's a fairly hefty one season price for a centre back who has recently been injured a lot.
If Spurs want more, I can see why we would think it doesn't stack up.
Similarly £65m for Maguire was crazy money, but talk of £80m is hilarious.
No wonder United aren't signing anyone yet. Just trying to weed out the bullshit.
Let's offers 45, I think they will agree.
Of course we would not then have a clear run at him and he might get more attractive offers.Yep, at times we also need to understand how business works. He is available for 25m next year . Anything above 40 is a sackable offense.

Well, if he wants to join us its worth taking the risk though. This scatter gun approach is not helping us by any means.Of course we would not then have a clear run at him and he might get more attractive offers.
I think we already have an agreement with Toby, in fact I think we have had an agreement with him for months, even before the window opened. So I don't see why we can't agree terms with him now, promise a 5-10 million sign on bonus and sign him up the day the summer window opens. If there's a clause, only the player's preference matters, no matter how many teams bid for himOf course we would not then have a clear run at him and he might get more attractive offers.

Wasn't he heavily linked with Real Madrid not long ago but they refused to pay his clause? He seems very highly rated in Spain and there were apparently lots of their fans calling for him to start over DDG.LOL, 80 million for Kepa?!
They are better off paying 100 for Oblak
That was before he signed a new contract with Bilbao. His buyout clause then was only €20m.Wasn't he heavily linked with Real Madrid not long ago but they refused to pay his clause? He seems very highly rated in Spain and there were apparently lots of their fans calling for him to start over DDG.
Well lads, 2 ish days to go and I'm worried. I can't believe we look like we might only sign a CB. If we only signed a decent RW I'd be fairly content but only a decent CB and I'd be disappointed. The two most important positions for us to strengthen in were RW and lb, it really looks like only a CB at most which is crap cos we need someone to stretch teams down that side and help in countering quick. Oh well, hope something mad happens in the next 2 days.
Yeah but he s not a goal kepaLOL, 80 million for Kepa?!

Isn't it just the Premier League window that closes on Thursday?
I think we can buy from foreign leagues if we wanted beyond then.
Nope. We can't buy from foreign leagues but other leagues can buy from Premier League clubs.Isn't it just the Premier League window that closes on Thursday?

He's good, but not at your level yet.Wasn't he heavily linked with Real Madrid not long ago but they refused to pay his clause? He seems very highly rated in Spain and there were apparently lots of their fans calling for him to start over DDG.
