He wants to get the best deal possible for him, he isn't 22 anymore. It's his right. He was nothing but a proper professional during his tenure here, I'm not his biggest fan either but calling him a wanker is a bit over the top.
Whether we pay what he wants or not, if he'll be needed (and I have a feeling he will) against Chelsea, he'll do his absolute best, of that I'm sure.

So asking for £140k a week is acceptable when he isn't even a starter? This is precisely the problem with the club and why we waste so much money. This guy is not going to get a better offer anywhere else and certainly will not find a bigger club to play for. I say call his bluff. He's wouldn't be difficult to replace.

He is entitled to ask for however much money he wants.

The club doesn't have to agree to it.

The problem here isn't Fellaini, it's the club/Jose.

I'm more worried his terms might include some sort of minimum appearance guarantee.

Don't think so, he had minimum appearances so far, didn't seem like he mind it. He is 30, so it is probably about money and length of the contract.

Anyone follow Diego Martinez on Twitter and is he a reliable source? Lot of United news coming from him. A good many of his past tweets have come true so just trying to figure out who this guy is

Exactly, I'm guessing he's being offered a 1 year deal, and wants 2 or 3.

I'd rather we keep Fellaini for another year as a squad player rather than use our resources for a backup CM when we've got other areas of concern.
Not for £130k odd a week. Fellaini can feck off.

Compare this reaction to the bend over and give Martial whatever he wants stance on his renewal

DiegoMSport? He's a fake and has been on the blacklist a while. His avatar literally comes from a Google search for 'man in suit selfie'.

What is bothering you? It is another way of saying he is one of his top targets. What is wrong with that?

In case Jose dint get SMS, he will be saying for the whole next season that he would have turned us into champions because of this one magical player. And this 'failed' transfer will be the excuse for any of our losses.

Maybe because one of them is Marouane Fecking Fellaini, a player who could retire TONIGHT and not be missed in the slightest, who has the audacity to publicly state his desire to strongarm the club for a new contract.

"the arrogance of Luis Enrique stops his signing for Chelsea".
The article says that there were no good feelings during the negotiations for his demands and that the same happened with Arsenal

Sound like he asked to have huge say in transfer if we're familiar with the discussion on Chelsea and Arsenal transfer dealing...

WOuld be interesting to see how he does, because it is very different story to have Suarez-Messi-Iniesta n team than just Hazard who probably even isn't on their level. I would think he would struggle in the prem

I seriously doubt he'll be on 130k unless we win the treble while Fellaini starts 50 matches in the process.
Apparently he what’s £140-150k.
Probably just making sure other clubs pay it.

He did?

The difference between giving an undoubtedly talented young player playing time and giving a symbol of mediocrity a huge pay raise.

One has carried out the instructions of the manager while Martial has yet to earn his trust.
Posters just like one player over the other and hypocrisy takes over to be honest.
Do we have quotes from Fellainis agent over the 2 seasons putting pressure on Jose or is that ok as well since Anthony is younger?

We will probably keep Fellaini, sign couple of 29 year olds and that will be it. While Pep will buy the best out there.

I can't lie. I don't like Fellaini and see him as a symbol of everything wrong with our club. An average player who gets paid too much and with whom the negatives far outweigh the positives.

I see Martial as the only player in our team who can take players on. Gets me on the edge of my seat the most out of any in out squad. Not without his own faults, mind.

I couldn't care less about his agent saying whatever to whoever to be honest.

Bottom line with Fellaini for me is no other top club would ever even buy him; he's halfway to a testimonial here.

We'll see, I don't trust journos whose jobs are dependent on clicks to be in the know or accurate. Wages are rarely flat, they depend on how well the player and the team does overall.

The 29 year olds we've been linked to are worth signing imo, plus we're also linked with a few younger players too. It's about balance.

Whats the point of adding another Rashford/Martial when we don't have players for here and now that can guide them and help us compete next season? We don't have the platform like we did in the past to bring through youngsters in the right environment. One we achieve that then we can look to the future.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see us add somebody like Kluivert anyway.

Is the man supposed to bend over and not fight for his own interests? How do some of you guys fare in real life while applying for jobs or renewing contracts?

I honestly think that if it were left to the club, they would have told him to feck off.

I agree he should fight for his own interests, but he's basically an unwanted player for most fans. It's like if the dude at work who doesn't get along with anybody and has the lowest sales tries to get a raise that the company has never offered before.

That's a risk he has to take though. Maybe he's not gonna succeed, but you can't blame him for trying. United's not exactly scraping for cash.
