Pretty sure it was independent who first reported. MEN and Luckhurst just run that story.
Think Independent said United confident he would sign a new day and agreement could be imminent, not that he had agreed or signed new deal. Small difference but important one.

I would trust Luckhurst more than Duncan. Duncan has been running with stories which look far from true.

United are being linked with Sami Khedira, Mario Mandzukic and Alex Sandro, while Juve are keen on Matteo Darmian and Anthony Martial.
Juve are expected to rebuff United's attempts to sign Mandzukic but the Italians would be prepared to offload Khedira and Sandro.
Khedira makes no sense after signing Fred. And Mandzukic would be underwhelming to say the least.
Mandzukic to sit on the bench in case of a Lukaku injury. Khedira would be Matic back up so we could still play a 433 without asking Fred to be the deepest midfielder.
At least give us someone like Bernardeschi who we can actually use.

Khedira is never the type of holding midfield like Matic. More like a Fellaini replacement. Still sound bogus for many players to be involved in such deal. I meant it's difficult for clubs to agree term with individual players let alone work out the value for the whole deals.
They'd just do them all as separate deals, but I agree it's most likely bollocks.
Not a big fan of Khedira but Mandzukic is the best cheap back up striker we can possibly buy.
He's vastly experienced, fits the target man profile Jose loves, can play as RW and is a fighter.
Being 32,he won't stand in the way of Rashford or Martial (if he decides to stay).
He would cost less than 20-25 mill Euros and is a better option than Arnautovic, who could cost twice that.

Khedira would be completely redundant. We already have a better player as a Matic back up, Khedira isn’t even a natural holding midfielder and he’s finished.
