I think we largely agree. I think we've both seen limited action from Fekir, as i've only seen the occational match, as well as youtube compilations from before last summer. I view Robben/Ribery as pretty wide winger/forwards occationally dropping in. It might be Fekir might be able to adjust into Robbens position, but i'd expect him to be more comfortable in a #10 position. Same with Lingard, he would be a stretch to fit into a RW/RAM position, because he drifts into the middle too much. Mata, however absurd it seems, is better at keeping width.
I would not want him at United. Not because he is not a good player, because he is, but because with our squad and formation he'd be pushed to the right wing where i think we could find better alternatives(without being able to present anyone particular). If we were to go for a 4-3-3, and if the rumours of Fred are to be believed, something like this should be the starting 11:

Now, i thought Sanchez was being bought for the RW/RAM position in the first place. Guess i and Mou disagree. When he hasn't i wouldn't be shocked to see Martial sold this summer and a true RW being his replacement (don't expect it, but wouldn't be shocked). Provided a box-box CM (Fred?) is bought, i expect a RW to be bought aswell, since this last season has proved we don't have a player ready to cement his position there.

Navas is a good goalkeeper, but he appears to be very vulnerable in the air and dealing with crosses.
I am not sure if the Premier League has more crosses, corners, aerial balls into the box etc compared to La Liga, but if so, I can see Navas having difficulty establishing himself as a top keeper here.

It now seems that Talisca was a back up for both Liverpool and us. Their first choices are Le Mar and Fekir, ours seems to be Bale and Douglas Costa with Willian 3rd all those 5 choices are a level up from Talisca however he is still a better option than Lingard or Mata playing from the right wing and that's our problem both Lingard and Mata are fine as No 10s but not right wingers!
We need a game changer with Elite Level pace and trickery to get the Old Trafford crowd roaring again, Martial, Sanchez and Rashford are more than good enough from the Left and I can see Jose enticing them by saying he will play any 2 from the 3 of them with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation with Martial or Rashford being developed into a No 10 or Sanchez playing there as he comes inside all the time anyway.
This could however spell the end for Pogba which would be a real shame as Jose is not convinced he can play in a 2 Man Midfield and nor is the French National Manager!

He is most likely not a backup and never in anyone mind.
I also feel we will be seeing that formation this season but with different style . Most probably if Martial stays back then Mourinho will try to integrate him on the right wing and get Pogba to play more conservatively in 2 man midfield in pre season . I still believe he will look for a marquee signing . If Greizmann's Barca move breaks down then I can see us triggering his buy out clause because Bale move won't happen because with Zizou gone he will wait and try to prove himself to the new manager .
So here goes my ambitious midfield and attack in a 4-4-2 formation like the good old days with 2 box to box midfielders , 2 wingers , a support striker and a line forward . I know this will never happen and this midfield will get destroyed but still no harm putting it out there

Pogba in a two isn't a viable long-term plan. It won't happen.
I know it won't happen . That plan got over last season when Mourinho tried it hence I wrote ambitious midfield which will get destroyed . The line up I wrote is a dream scenario because neither Pogba will ever play in 2 midfield nor Martial on the right wing . It will always be the 3 in midfield with Matic as our anchor .

As you say yourself, i hardly think Pogba|Fred midfield would be anything but a liability defensively. That being said,
Griezmann i think is a foregone saga when he didn't come last year. Shoehorning him, Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez in the same 11 whilst also keeping either of Rashford/Martial happy at least demands developing a new formation
Since i think we can agree your proposed 4-2-3-1 would be too weak defensively. i guess the option is a right wing replacement for Martial/(Griezmann)(allowing Matic to continue at DM). Best attempt for me to incorporate Griezmann in current(including Fred) woul be

As far as i can see it would push Griezmann to a position which is not his favourite, at which point i wonder if we could not do better trying to improve the other positions (actual RW/RB/LB/DMC) I actually have a hard time composing a good 11 with Griezmann and Pogba without making a wholesale makeover of our squad.

Exactly. I've been wondering that myself. Personally, I'd rate Navas higher than Allisson. Very underrated player.
I still recall the dark days when Van Gaal wanted to replace De Gea with Cillessen, the guy who never managed to stop a penalty in his life. But he's supposed to be really good with his feet, kind of like Claudio Bravo, who we can all agree was absolutely brilliant in the EPL. I hope Cillessen is equally brilliant if he joins Liverpool.
