He was linked quite heavily
Must have been a dark time I've blocked out. Just had a look at his win % as a manager. He's won around 60% of all games he's managed for Bordeaux, France and PSG, the latter being the one that brings his average up.

His Bordeaux days were impressive though.

Forgot Blanc even existed. Why's he not been linked with anything for years?
There were some links but he's been very picky, reportedly even refusing Dortmund and he wasn't at the top of the list of the elite clubs seeking a new coach.

A wild guess is that his termination agreement may have kept him on the PSG payroll, giving him little incentive to accept a contract on lower terms.

AKA Chelsea refused to pay the 7m.

Exactly, they weren't concerned about his behaviour before. It's all gone tits up for him now though given hes been given the boot by Napoli due to his flirting with Chelsea. Maybe he will take the Zenit job now....

Probably is behaviour, sounds like a bit of a wally. Seems like Chelsea have done well staying away from him.

He made sexist comments, didn't he? Apparently has 'contempt for the media and women'. Sounds like a perfect fit at Chelsea!

How's he gone from being the hottest thing on the market to unemployable? Something doesn't stack up right if you ask me.

Also, Napoli haven't fired him yet have they? They're waiting for Chelsea or Zenit to break his clause or their asking for a silly amount to release him.

Would be funny if Napoli had to start the season with Ancelotti and Sarri as first team coaches!

Didn't he also make anti-homosexual remarks towards Mancini? Sarri had a touchline ban after Mancini complained.
Yeah. Guy is a piece of shit. That said, don't buy that Chelsea have suddenly found out about this or suddenly started caring, they just don't want to pay the release clause.

The clause is only 7 million.

Putting this out there pretty much guarantees that, even if he can secure his release from Napoli, he won't go to Chelsea, no? If they hired him now, having expressed concern about his past behaviour, it'd just be used as another stick to beat them with.

Yeah, looks like Chelsea don't want him. Correct me if I'm wrong though, isn't Conte still the manager of Chelsea?

Mentally fragile, extended periods of time injured and tough competition in Paris.

Hmm, this is a very strange one. He is obviously better than West Ham! Should go to Italy or Spain instead. To be fair, he is the kind of player I would think Spurs would buy to build a better bench. His ability isn’t second to Eriksen at all, but his physical shape might not be that great for the Premier League. Maybe used to having more time with the ball in his feet

Agreed but the interested Italian and Spanish clubs didn't have the cash ready to pay the fee. It's an example of the financial power of the PL.

What kind of wage he is on? Maybe the key here. Transfer fee is one thing, but wage can be vital and PL clubs have the edge over the lesser Italian and Spanish clubs when it comes to wage

Sadly true. West Ham don’t deserve to buy Pastore whatsoever, especially when there are greater clubs in Spain/Italy that would love to have him. That being said; being this rich already, he should take a cut to join one of said clubs.

You're right, his wages are estimated at €175k/week gross. Enough to break the wage structure at most clubs.

What do you even mean by that? For contrast does a club like City deserve the players they’ve signed ?

Sounds like utter Bollox but if true we should bite their hand off. Exactly what we need.
Need what? High earner, injury prone, lack intensity on the pitch, fazed by competition, prefer playing central area... player?

Edit: I forgot he'll turn 30 in about 1 year time :p

Wonder what this behaviour was? Perhaps that time he signed a contract with a release clause they don't fancy paying?
what previous behaviour?

Sarri called Mancini a faggot and made some homophobic slurs. Mancini labelled him a racist and homophobe at that time. Sarri also made sexist remarks to a woman reporter.

With Chelsea already grappling with racism issues, it is understandeable if they are concerned. But it could also be an excuse to hide their inability to pay the release clause.

West Ham in talks to sign PSG midfielder Javier Pastore. PSG willing to sell this summer.€20m deal

Pellegrini targeting some good players for West Ham.
