One I think we should be on. Bit of a Mamadou Sakho except far superior, Mourinho was after him while Mangala was at Porto and though he may not fit the centre-back-playmaker role required of him at Manchester City there's an outstanding out-and-out defender Mourinho could coax out of him at a miniature price.

I have a simple request. Can people stop moaning about moaning about moaning. The thread is hard to read because of if. Should be Tweets and responses about the player. I know this is somewhat ironic post but for the sake of spoiling an otherwise good thread it needs to be said

Got to love the Caf. City are signing young "wonderkid" style players who may not make it in the Premier League at all, Jose is targeting players who he believes will achieve his objectives and people are having a meltdown.

This isn't football manager people. Buying over the age of 25+ isn't a disaster for anyone.

If Chelsea are trying to sign Willian-style Perisic, does this mean we are going to sign the real thing from Chelsea? We know that Jose loves him - one of the only players that put in a shift during his disasterous last season while the likes of Hazard were downing tools.

Seems like our valuation of the player and Inter's is still quite different according to di Marzio.

Perisic isnt good enough. Its not about his age. He is inconsistent for Inter and was also inconsistent at Wolfsburg

I can gave time for inconsistency when you're young. Perisic is supposed to be at his peak.

Willian wasn't even a starter this season. Could see us getting him if he asks to leave, another Mata style transfer. Wouldn't say no at all to him tbh, very decent winger

He's woeful, City massively overpaid for him cause they got caught in the hype. We'll be nowhere near him, not even an upgrade on Blind at CB.
It's not going to happen.
We'll see. Benitez will make him stand on his own 6 yard line and hoof the ball whenever it dare come near and he'll be a colossus at it.

There's a reason for hype, it's not because you're woeful.

Anxious? Are you serious? There are people on this board losing their shit over one player who signed for City. People behaving as if signing players is more important than actually winning trophies. Why is the manager giving his shortlist 2 months ago relevant? The season finished this week!!!! Inspiring confidence? Maybe, just maybe, the manager knows more about football than any of the transfer sycophants on this board.

Let's be clear, I couldn't give a feck who City sign. I trust our manager to get who he wants. Until then, I'll sit back and enjoy the fact that I've just watched my club win the only trophy they had previously never won.

 it doesn't work like that, managers are not infallible. Mourinho has gotten plenty of transfers wrong. United does not exist in a void, City is competition, competition that has been trumping us for a couple of years now.

The manager handing is shortlist 2 months ago is relevant in the context of people getting anxious because direct rivals have already tied up a very good player with a high ceiling and are seemingly pretty aggressive in the market, meanwhile we are being linked with pretty average players. Does it explain some of the reactions? yes, it very much does so. are those reactions justified? you can argue that I guess.

Yes we won 2 trophies but let's not kid ourselves, they aren't the major ones or at least the ones we should be gunning for. secondly, we fell short in the league, badly. thirdly, our performances haven't been consistently great for like 2 or 3 months now, so yes, signing players is pretty important unless you wannabe stagnated or even worse. We are already behind our competition in the league, let alone in Europe.

It's great that you are enjoying the europa win, but it's also ok for others to voice their opinion/displeasure with the type of players we are being linked to, I mean, if it was all "I trust the manager" type stuff, what would even be the point of a forum?

I wonder at what point it woild be cheaper for city owners to just buy Monaco FC

It's not about the early signings, it's about the quality of the players they have been linked with and they have already signed one good plwyer. While we are being linked with average players like Dier and Keane and even Perisic who may or may not be average. You are talking as if the season for City was over a month ago. We are concerned because this transfer window is an important one and could be difference between fighting for the title or fighting for top 4. I trust Jose but I can't say the same about Woodward who might be more interested in getting more sponsors.
Relax, drink a glass of water, breath deep. Ummmmmmmm...

Mourinho doesn't stick around in Monaco for the Grand Prix. Perhaps he went there for other reasons..

Something fishy about this, why would you go to Monaco just for the qualifying? Surely he had some other business to conclude yesterday as well.

Sounds like Perisic is one of the four on Jose's list he's given to Woody.

Keane
Dier
Perisic
Griezeman

Say he gets all four, how would people feel about that as a summer's business?

I'd be happy with Keane, Perisic and Griezmann personally I'm not Diers biggest fan. I think we will buy 5 now due to Zlatan injury and Rooney looking set to leave.

I'd much rather Eric Dier compared to Michael Keane. We already have to many average English centre backs, don't need another one who we'll have to spend stupid amounts on after letting him go for pennies a few years ago.

I would say...

Underwhelmed, bordering on depressed :D

This

at the best 6 out of 10, depressing as feck. 3 mediocre players is to add to the squad already full of average players.

TOP4 will be a miracle with this squad, compare to City and not even other top European clubs, we are in deep trouble as a club in general

And even more this

Meanwhile Ed Woodward is still trying to figure out what day of the week it is.

Ah the old Woodward boom and bust cycle. He'll sign Griezmann next week and everyone will be lauding him as legend and the greatest ever

Well said.

Valencia, Real Sociedad and Sevilla paying attention to Lucas Pérez (and probably Depor too)

We signed PAUL POGBA(You know that talented midfielder that everyone in world football wanted) last season and yet some are still criticising Woodward.

Not having a go at you mate but if people get anxious over stuff like that, then I have no idea how they cope with pressures of life.

You do realize that posting on a forum about topics doesn't bleed over into many other things in life, I look after my mother who has alzheimers, I'm sure many others here who are having a moan have real life priorities as well, giving a negative opinion on a forum doesn't equate to some real life inbalance that sees us sitting in a corner rocking back and forth, it's just an opinion and some banter on a message board that people like yourself keep trying to make into more than that, I am passioante about United, I voice my views and that's it, like many others here, for all you know the "Everything is rosey" brigade might be running a blade up and down their arms as they type.

Maybe, but he could've been there for the grand prix and to meet the pilots and teams personally. He wouldn't be able to go into the pits during the race.
Maybe he is just unwinding and having a good time.
