Ok I'm ridiculous, but I guess you would rather wait till City and some other team get all our targets while we sign average players like Dier.

This being posted in the week we've won a European trophy. The appetite for signings has reached a new low.

@KM shut the transfer forum down for everyone's sake!

That's being polite.

Our season finished a few days ago and the bitching and moaning in here is shocking.

City sign one player, we're linked to another and all of a sudden our season is over.

Some of these posters need to take a break and have a few days off!

Quite right, my feelings precisely. I'm still buzzing for our win last week and for the excitement that alone will bring to next season. It's not even June yet so people need to chill and trust Woody/Jose to get the signings we need to push us on.

Has Jose actually said who his targets are? Has Ed Woodward come out and said who Jose's targets are? People losing their heads over what they have read in the papers, which funny enough might just be speculation by journalists who know nothing.

Firstly, you should realise sponsors are very important to us. We are not being owned by a sugar daddy like Chelsea, City or PSG. We actually need to earn money first to be able to spend it.
Secondly, it's not even June yet FFS :D Stop panicking, we will be linked with pretty much everyone in the world but it doesn't mean we are signing them...

I'm not panicking or having a meltdown like some people. I said I'm concerned about it.

You don't even know who are targets are.

Only Woodward and Jose would know that but Silva, Mendy and Fabinho are good players. I would be disappointed if me miss out on all of them, I will be happy if we sign at least one of those 3 players.

I don't see what's ridiculous about their post. Yes, we have won an European trophy but we had a relatively easy run there and we finished 6th in the league. So yeah, we need signings, especially as we are going to be in the CL next year. Maybe people could be more patient since it's only May but I also understand ppl feeling anxious seeing as a direct rival already tied up one of the most promising players in Europe at the moment. Also, our manager said he handed his shortlist of targets 2 months ago, and some of these players we are being linked with aren't exactly inspiring much confidence.

Why would Costa want to leave Chelsea right now? And why would they want to sell him? He's been fantastic this season. What am I missing here?

Some people are talking as if City's season was over a month ago but it ended just 7 days ago.

Good post, I wouldnt agree on Rose but pretty much the rest, irrelevant anyway. Totally agree with the point you are making. I wouldnt have minded Silva or Mendy and when we signed DiMaria though I was happy I personally would have preferred Sanches, always been a fan but stance has changed a bit on him this season.
There seems to be an obsession with the Monaco players and then the same 9-10 names due to press rumours, it is as though there are only 20 good players available this summer from the papers.
Personally I think there are loads of players in the German league not getting so many mentions like Weigl, like Sanches who hasnt beome a player in one season and also loads of players we havent seen that much of, just look at the two young Ajax centre backs, both looked top drawer.
I can see why if we are only signing four players, names like Perisic are not that exciting (he is a decent player though). But until something happens we really dont know who are targets are, lets face it the press have generally only got one name right in there links the last few windows. Mkhitaryian and Bailly were barely mentioned until the transfer negotiations were really advanced.

I agree plus if we sign Perisic, Griezmann and say Lukaku (only 3) are we to say this is a bad summer of business? Id rather we address our squad balance the way the manger see's fit. Plus people are forgetting Jose is a beast in the transfer market and isn't known for signing bad players. I am not worried in the slightest Ed has had the list since March I'm just going to sit back relaxed and see them arrive. Looking forward to next season already with season book renewed.

They aren't the only good players though are they? The world doesn't revolve around Monaco

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal will buy good players too and we'll hear the same thing; "we should have been in for him!"

How about we trust that Jose knows how to build a team instead of always being jealous of someone elses new toys.

People actually think Guardiola buying half of Monaco will work out for him. Only a few players from that team are genuinely good, while most of them flourish thanks to a strong relationship with Jardim and good team chemistry.

Man City went 6-6 against Monaco over two legs, and City got knocked out because their defense was shambolic.

This is what Guardiola has done at every club, he hoards midfielders and if he can help it he wants his defenders to also be midfielders (ie Mascherano). Playing midfielders in as many positions as possible is great when you are Bayern or Barcelona who do not have to worry about teams counter attacking them, but when teams counter attack you regularly your imbalanced team gets exposed.

I think all the MOnaco players are good, but I agree a lot of them seem to be getting over hyped. Look at Falcao for instance (who is obviously a great player dont get me wrong), signing him didnt work out for us or Chelsea, now look at how wellhe has done back at Monaco. Mbappe and Silva seemed the real stand out you could see playing anywhere, though Silva has a hell of a lot of competition to get in the City frontline.
Im not sure Bakayoko or Fabinho are anytning special as central midfielders and Mendy reminds me a lot of the Porto left back years ago, sure he went to Liverpool for a while who looked a world beater and failed so badly abroad I cant even remember his name?
The city front line is young and already well stacked and I think potentially up there with the best in Europe. At the back without Kompany though that City defence has had hundreds of millions thorwn at it already and is as you say shambolic and so far Guardiolas moves there have turned out dreadfully.

Everyone likes new toys. Even the grey haired ones

Call it a day mate, you've made a fool of yourself with today's posts.

Jesus wept this thread is full of fecking toddlers.

This place is unreal, imagine what these lot would have been like in 96 after winning the league when we went out and bought Solskjaer or in 98 when we bought Yorke. On other side they'd have been so giddy when we bought Poborsky in 96 and Veron in 2001 who both went on to be huge flops. How about some trust in Mourinho.

English weather, he said it multiple times he is not very happy in England.

Precisely.

And if we don't, what will you do? Go protest outside of OT? Swear some posters on here are like spoilt children it's ridiculous.

Better than that, they would have dreamt of Kluivert all summer, watch him go off to Barca and have a nuclear meltdown when we turn to Aston fecking Villas best player as option number 2

I can't believe Monaco would sell 3 players to one team. They don't need the money. Yes the players may like to leave but like Dortmund they sell 1-2 players a season and keep the rest. They won't want a championship winning team be fully dismantled in 1 season.

And why would they be interested in Sanchez? I would be gutted if he went there because he is world class and would slot straight into our team. They certainly don't need him with their attacking option. At least 1-2 of their attackers will be frustrated at not playing. That is why you need to have squad players happy to sit on the bench. Something Sir Alex always did well and clubs like Chelsea and City never quite understand.

People need patience. City are linked with a lot of players but then they have released half their squad already and currently have 1 good defender and no goalie.

Anxious? Are you serious? There are people on this board losing their shit over one player who signed for City. People behaving as if signing players is more important than actually winning trophies. Why is the manager giving his shortlist 2 months ago relevant? The season finished this week!!!! Inspiring confidence? Maybe, just maybe, the manager knows more about football than any of the transfer sycophants on this board.

Let's be clear, I couldn't give a feck who City sign. I trust our manager to get who he wants. Until then, I'll sit back and enjoy the fact that I've just watched my club win the only trophy they had previously never won.

Great post.

They want to keep him is very different than saying they wont sell him.

Whilst I'm not anxious I can understand some of the others' sentiment. Its likely City will take 3 targets that we had, not just 1. Fabinho and Mendy look to follow Silva. Whilst Fabinho was the only real concern for me, I'm not really pleased to see them go for a player like Silva and us opt for Perisic.

We all trust Mourinho, but that doesn't mean he's always right and I don't really rate his attacking judgement as his defensive ones.

Agreed! And to add to that, has anything actually been confirmed by anyone reliable yet? Or is it all still 'sky sources' who are immediately put down if reporting something positive?
