Kagawa... divides opinion doesn't he.
Anyway thought he had a decent first season (given injuries) but showed some quality
Under Moyes he was more or less cast aside, but he had a few chances and played well in UCL but not in the league.

Too many attacking players without pace in the team, so Kagawa out and Di Maria in is good for the team. Shame it didn't work out.

For goodness sake, you lot who claim it's United's fault that Kagawa didn't come good here are talking rubbish; it is 100% the player who didn't adapt and force his way into the first team. As for Mata being ordinary - 7 goals from 11 games playing centrally. While he's had his more challenging games, Mata's stats justify his continued place in the team. Our attacking players will click into gear with time in the new system.
Mata will always get goals because of his knack to be in the right place to get tap ins, or his set pieces, but really he's not played well. He hasn't been poor and doesn't give the ball away often, he's just ineffective while looking tidy, like kagawa was. Nobody is saying kagawa is a better player then mata but he's still a very good player who just didn't suit our style at all just like mata doesn't. Maybe he will the more we adapt under van gaal.

Thing is though after signing Blind and having Carrick signing another DM does it make sense ?

Probably Schneiderlin can be a better fit. Dunno if Carvalho can play 8.

Carrick is injured until November, he's 33 and we don't know how he will recover at that age. Besides which he was shite last season anyway and is lucky he's not been moved on. Blind is not top class. So yes, it makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Indifference is all I feel toward the Kagawa transfer.

Playing centrally. How often Kagawa played here?

Also, re "watching him" wouldn't he be pulled out of that game if a move was imminent, like Remy yesterday?

On my phone, so I can't but someone needs to post Jamie Jackson's tweet...

@JamieJackson___: Borussia Dortmund sign Shinji Kagawa as Manchester United eye Arturo Vidal http://gu.com/p/4x6h9/tw #mufc

Only bit about Arturo:
Van Gaal has not ruled out a late move for Juventus’s Arturo Vidal or any further strengthening before 11pm on Monday despite high-ranking sources at United claiming there is a “very low probability” of more signings.

"Van Gaal has not ruled out a late move for Juventus’s Arturo Vidal or any further strengthening"

So basically he said he's not ruling out signings and Jackson used that to get clicks by tagging on Vidal's name.

Perhaps we're scouting Enzo Perez? We were linked earlier in the summer and is possibly the more dynamic option.

Maybe LVG wants to continue the Argentinian revolution at OT!
