Transfer Muppet Fantasy

I have to say, this is utter stupidity, with the whole fines and overbiding. I can't see how it makes sense that someone will bid money he doesn't have? screw the fines later if we wait until he wins and gets the players only to sell them? a waste of time. We should just simply not bid over our budget, it's not really complicated.

If he cannot afford the player, the transfer does not go through and the player is available for others to bid afresh again. MJJ has to pay the 30 m fine per failed transfer, sell players if he have to raise the funds. Basically, if you have been prudent, you just wait and watch a Leeds-like collapse then pick up players on the cheap.
Give the current system a shot and we see how it goes
The system can be refined from what we learnt this time round

This has become a catastrophe.. With the two threads, plus the never ending list of players, plus the inflating people done for some players with money they don't have, plus the enormous 24 hour deadline which is really hard to reach, and managers dropping out like flies.. Just simply doesn't seem to work.

I agree with some of that, but 24hours is a fine deadline.

It isn't Pol's fault at all though, the complaining has been frankly ridiculous.

Pol I'm really don't think you did a bad job, and even if I was thinking that so feck me because you've spent time doing it. It's just too much mess, I think the problem is within the idea.

1) Not a never ending list, but a 50 player limit is there.
2) Bidding above cash is permissible as mentioned by Pol.
3) 24h deadline is fine as many are not as active on 12h limit.
 
Look we need to finish this, right? Just get your players, end of story. Yeah, things went wrong, but we'll better them next time. We need to stick with something.

Another restart just won't do.

I don't get this at all.

If you think its inflated then don't bid, what is the problem? If you think people are bidding silly amounts then just sit back and let them, you would benefit.

I think in general everyone just underestimated the competition for players - the player pool isn't huge.

The biggest problem here is that some of the mangers want to play with a high pace, while others want to just check it a few minutes twice a day. I think we should have done this with 8 very active managers and short deadlines (8 hours) with a smaller list of players (32 for example, even the 55 was too big, imo) or we need to accept that it will take a long time. There's no way you can keep everyone happy in this format, in my opinion. It's great that you tried, but it turned it into a mess (I really don't like the two threads and the extension to 100 players). I can't see how we could unite the junkies, who want to get it done as soon as possible, with the patient managers, who want to invest a few minutes a day for fun, in this format and have everyone enjoy it.

To be honest, it still is a list of 50 midfielders over minimum 64 (assuming 4/manager), so there will be healthy bidding. As the 24 hr limit stays, I don't see how it become difficult for any manager. Not sure why a bigger pool would turn this into a mess!

It's less enjoyable, at least for me it is, it's all so balanced out. If everyone ends up with 12 players on average, we will draft 192 players in total, which means we now have more than half of all players available at the same time. That's not an auction anymore, in which you take risks and then have to live with the consequences, because you don't know yet what will happen in the next rounds. Now, you can buy your whole team almost at once. I thought the idea is to have everyone competing for single players at the same time. That's not what's happening here at all, we're basically competing for whole teams already.
