I never tried it and I dont intend to do so now. I like Redcafe. Stating that I feel that Im entitled to voice my concerns when things are (in my opinion) wrong.

It is a bold move of course but in reality how many creditable transfer stories are likely to appear during the next month or so?

The fact that there is a football forum covers any transfers already agreed or in principle and poster's can then discuss the effects to the relevant team in that forum.

However, the main reason for closing the forum is probably due to the fact that random names are picked out from across the globe followed by non-credible sources and small clips on you tube. For the admins/mods it is probably the main source of wind ups and the like so for them to close it allows them to put their feet up!

I'm sure if there is a big transfer story with some kind of credibility, say like Berbatov, the mods will allow it to be discussed in the football forum, after all transfers are part of football. ;)
 
I cannot see the harm in letting those who like transfer speculation to inhabit the transfer forum ad nauseum.

Those that feel its a pointless exercise stay away from the forum I guarantee that the papers will still continue transfer speculation right through until the window opens. The only question will be will they start speculating tomorrow or the day after. So if its good enuff for the Sun,Star,Mail et al why not for the Caff ?
 
Sigh...I'm starting to realize it's pointless to argue with admins/mods. They won't listen. Not in a bad way.

I wouldn't worry about it.

We've discussed it amongst the mods and agreed the best thing is to just delete all of the posts in there.

This will likely massively affect some people's post counts, but it isn't about post counts (he says).
