Did they say signing? or just "activity"? if it was the latter then they are just trolling for viewers and will announce Macheda to wherever on loan.
 
I'd imagine we'd be going for someone like Stuart Ripley, or perhaps Guy Whittingham. Certainly not Sneijder IMO.

Trying to wear a rational and a muppet hat on at the same time, there is the possibility that we are so wary of City or Chelsea purposely ruining our moves (particularly for midfielders) that we have taken the risk of leaving things very late indeed.

Also Arsenal's move for some midfielders might precipitate our getting involved.
