Tragic Sporting Moments

Mcllroy's collapse last week was pretty tragic. He was distraught when that tee shot went into the stream.

fecking Margarito the prick. How in God's name did he get away with that?!

Did you see when Cotto's dad (RIP) spoke about after the fight? Sounded close to tears seeing his son bleed from the mouth nose and ears think he said it looked like he was crying blood too.

Margarito is a dirty cnut was happy when Pac beat the shit out if him

Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings April 28th, 1996

The day a team lost a game and the city lost a team...

Unless recent reports prove true

also the ESPN 30 for 30 piece "Once Brothers" on Vladi Divac and Dan Petrovic is heartbreaking.

Michael Watson was a terrible terrible thing to witness

Watching live at the time there was something about the way that punch connected and his reaction to it that told you he was in severe trouble

Not Eubanks fault mind and great to see them having got together as well but still just shocking.

Also Senna's - again watching it live there was a severity about the impact that had a foreboding about it. I was not surprised he did'nt get out of that.

We hold these heroes up and hard to believe as they seek their glory that they can pay the ultimate price

That was Game 6 by the way. Those lovable losers still had a whole other game to win it....and they lost that too.

I'd say Bill Buckner takes the baseball tragedy cake....although as a Cardinal fan, the blown call by Don Denkinger in the 1985 World Series was pretty horrific.

I know a lot of people here despise John Terry, but in 2008, while I was absolutely over the moon when we won it, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him and Chelsea as a whole really a few minutes after we won it, when their players were going up to collect their runners up medals. We were so close to being in that position ourselves, they were virtually Champions, and suddenly it was them who ended up with nothing after their captain missed.

Nope, I had no sympathy at all for Chelsea or Terry. I consider myself quite well rounded when it comes to football and will always give credit when it’s due. But on that night seeing how upset they were made it all the better for me.

If I had to say one time were I felt sorry for a team Utd had just beaten it would be Bayern Munich in '99. Sammy Kuffour would have almost broken my heart if it wasn’t for the fact that I was jumping around like a lunatic
