Top of the League!

Feels awesome. But we need to keep this momentum going. Not settling for anything less than 3 pts was the way to go today. That's the right mentality.

Ole has been doing an incredible job so far. The whole team is on the same page regarding winning 3 points. It may sound simple but (IMO) one of the key attributes of a title-winning team.

Is anyone else way more worried about City than Liverpool? Im surprisingly not worried one bit about Liverpool. I don’t think they’ve got much this season.
They have 3 games in a week starting tomorrow night, all at home. Brighton, Palace, Villa. Extremely likely to be 9 points. Decent chance they're on top of the table next week.

Great to be on top, but now the real pressure begins. Can the players handle it.

I actually think this is a thing that was sorely missing.
All these years we never stood a chance of winning the PL and the players knew that. It brought everyone down.
Now we do have a chance, even if City or Liverpool are the favorites. May this chance bring the winning mentality to players and staff.
Hunger is essential. Gotta be the dog that picks a bone and doesn't let go for life, like Leicester did.

Top of the league!!

But the reality is that we are still the third best team in the league at the moment and we need to improve by a lot to stay top. Passing. Defending (set pieces). Finishing. Fitness. Tempo. Breaking up low block teams. But overall, being top is the best place to be while still improving on these things.

We will see fluctuation in next 6 matches that might be frustrating. But from matches 23rd to 33rd we have just 3 genuinely tough fixtures. Rest are achievable 3 pointers. If we accumulate 26+ points in that period then bring it on baby!

Last 5 matches are unforgivably tough. Get that cushion of points before the final push.

Break the bank now and bring in a world class striker to replace Martial. We have a massive opportunity here. I can't help but feel that the slightest unfortunate event such as an injury to one of our key players will feck us up with City breathing down our necks.

Despite our position on top of the table, I don't think we're in a position to win it this year - we're still a work-in-progress in my view. Having said that, it's a nice position to be in and it's good that we're competing for the title.

Our problems remain the same, I agree. But never would I have thought to see us in 1st place again

Fantastic to see but any idea of staying there will be very hard based on how we'll the noisy neighbours are playing. Not forgetting when Liverpool get most of their injured players back. However, it's very nice to see so let's enjoy t whilst we can. :)

As long as 2 of 3 front 3 goes crazy running at Liverpool, we can beat them and open up a 6 points lead. I think it will shut the pundits who pick City and Pools who will finish above us.

City look shit hot these last few games and can only see Grealish & co maybe giving them any problems in next few weeks

What a result. And exactly the type of performance that was the hallmark of the Ferguson team. Even things were going against us, the players digged in an got the result.

The clash at Anfield is now crucial. If we can put on the right performance here, it could instill the requisite confidence that our players need to seriously challenge for the title.

A lot of tough fixtures coming up and this is an enormous one, up next. We're in good form, and this can be the start of something special. We'll find out our true level in the Liverpool match. I can't wait to see where we stand.

Just enjoy it. We have come a long, painful way. 2013 seems like an eternity ago. We might not be able to win it, but progress is obviously there. Considering all the misery we had during those Moyes days, all the dreadful displays we have witnessed during LvG and Mourinho days, today seemed like million years ago.

And who knows? We might just be able to win it.

I'd only advocate for this if we're 1-0 down in the 80th minute.

We still need to go into this match cool, composed and not with the mindset to throw everything at them from the get-go. Liverpool are still a dangerous team and you can easily play into their hands with such a mindset.

My way of saying go for the win there (with quick counters) constantly exploiting their space behind fullbacks. Or not play with your mind on 1 point.

Damn, good feeling waking up to. Could get used to this easily.

All we need to do is win ALL our remaining games to equal Liverpool's points total of 99 from last season. Got this!

Tried to be cool last night but feck it........... Top of the leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeague baby

It feels different this time looks like we are in the race for real , everybody keeps saying Liverpool and City are on different level to us if they get going while ignoring we ourselves aren't at full throttle till now fully expecting us to reach another level as the season progresses.

We last topped the Premier League two years and two months ago in August 2018.. but it has been a much longer wait since we last topped the table after New Year's Day in a season... The first time since we last won the title in 2013.. :D
That’s because bar Liverpool, the team that tops the league on GW 18 is the one that wins. So it’s now very important to win the next games as much as possible. And yes it’s hard for us. But the lads have to believe.

Does anyone else feel like 2021 is the year the good guys win?

After years and years of absolute shit; this year might just be the one where we can finally celebrate?

Just looking at the news recently, you see a corrupt powerful organisation tearing itself apart as the supporters are revealed to be disgusting low life vermin following a group of people who have been held up by corruption and allegations of fraud.

And then if you turn away from the sports section and Liverpool's recent form you also have the Trump stuff as well.
