On the flip side, I don't see us beating both palace and west ham either.

Not in the state we're in right now. Luke Shaw probably out for a while too. Brandon Williams as well. Who plays left back? Dalot?!
 
Now Leicester game will be deciding game of the season. Only question is will we need point or three

Football doesn't work like that, you don't get to pick where you draw a game so you can guarantee a win in another game..

We've just made the game against Leicester important, when it should have been a dead rubber if we just done our job.

Much better be confident than pessimistic after one draw. These results have always happened to every team. Not the end of the world.
And yes, think this will push the team to up their game in the next two matches. If we cannot beat Palace and West Ham to secure top 4, we don't ever deserve to be there.
Irrespective of that, have you even seen Leicester play recently? The dread which comes over this place after any poor result is bewildering at times.
 
Seems like you might need your old pals Liverpool to do you a favor next week?

Chelsea aren't going to drop anything against Norwich. Might be a shootout for fourth between Leicester & United on the final day, although I don't see Leicester winning either of their next two. Palace is a big one for United. Win that and you'd expect they would win against West Ham too. Then you're probably good.

Palace and West Ham will absolutely be easier games than playing Liverpool/Wolves/Spurs/Sheffield United. Crazy to think otherwise. They're on different worlds in terms of quality.

We shit the bed again. Last minute of the game, all we need to do is defend a corner and we can't. All these calculations ("Chelsea and Leicester will drop points", "we have an easier run-in") are wishful thinking, in the end we can't rely on other teams to do the job for us. United needed to hold on for the win, expecting other teams to take points off your rivals is not what winners do.

Massive mentality issues with this team, they need to fecking put games away simple as that. If Southampton who have nothing to play for can be arsed more than us, what the fck? Pogba was sleepwalking for 15 minutes and was responsible for the first conceded goal. AWB was horrific throughout. Maguire was caught out several times. Bruno's passing was off. Too cavalier upfront at times, when we could/should have scored 4 or 5. Both Martial (who was MOTM imo) and Rashford missed clear fecking chances. And we get punished in the end.

So feck Chelsea and Leicester's results, Man United players need to do their fecking job.

Apart from you lot and Bayern we've shown up and played well in every single big game this season.

Like i said with the City game (which featured equally bullish post's about how we were definitely getting slapped up) we could lose because they're an elite side but i'm certain we will make a contest of it just like we have in the other 3 games vs them.
 
Leicester are in deeper shit than Chelsea or United.

They have their tougher run in and are down a main CB and have to play Ryan Bennett in a two or three man central defense. They got twated against Bournemouth and just wilted after going a goal up.

United were the only teams of the 3 to pick up a point, so they did gain ground, just not the the ground the were expecting when in the lead that far into injury time even if they were down a man.

Either way, all to play for across these 3 teams with United and Leicester separated by GD only now.

Nothing's really changed in that we needed to win our remaining games to be sure of top 4. Wolves, Sheffield and Spurs will not lose all their remaining games so they will take points off Chelsea and Leicester.

Chelsea could potentially only pick up 3 more points and Leicester 0, so we are very much in it. We just have to see it through ourselves. But at least it's still in our hands for now.

As annoyed as I am about tonight, this kind of thinking is bizarre. Every league winner in history of the PL has relied on their rivals dropping points.

You need to get 112 points in a season to not rely on other teams results.

Should we beat Norwich we have a 4 pt gap over Utd and Leicester. Which is not bad at this stage. But i wouldnt get too confident that you'll beat Palace and West Ham yet, theyre going to be harder than you think. That's what worries me. People are saying Leicester and Chelsea will drop points, well they will but this draw could derail our momentum too. I wouldn't be too confident of beating Leicester in the last game.
 
I wanted so much to believe when I have had us as not getting in top four since before the season even started, only recently getting caught up in the buzz around us right now have I dared to dream we will get top four and CL football.

However I could still see us fluffing it especially after tonight and then going into an away game next. It might be something sick like fifth on goal difference as I think Chelsea will get 6 or 7 points in their remaining games and finish 3rd. Us 5 points and Leicester 5...which wouldn't be enough, so I could definitely see us finishing 5th on GD which would really suck balls.

We have to beat Leicester.

Well a lot of people were cautious. I think maybe we were maybe caught on the hop tonight too. Maybe a bit too confident. I can see the team being very focused for the last 3.

While United need to do their job, it's not as if they're doing their job against invisible opponents like they were against Southampton. Southampton were one of the best in form teams like United since the restart. They're a plucky side and made it tough on United, but that's fine. Southampton played better and defended a lot better in their 1-0 win against City, but rode their luck against City and again tonight against United.

United have to prove they have the resolve to get over the hump and until then, they have a lot to prove and play for. They have to earn the right to scrap through these types of games in getting a full result. They were really unlucky tonight, but the fact is, until they prove it to themselves and earn these types of full results games, then they have nobody to blame but themselves.

United had a lot of resolve and a great mentality about them after going down, so I don't completely agree with them having massive mental issues. Fatigue and match accumulation does play a role and we're seeing some tiredness, and rightfully so, in the likes of AWB and at least a few others. But they have to play through it and learn from it as it's the only way they can reach that next level.

What thinking is bizarre, that United let their concentration levels drop whenever top 4 rivals drop points? It's happened too many times in the past seasons to be a coincidence, every time we can break through we somehow feck it up at the last hurdle. It's clearly a mentality issue.
 
Wolves should be kicking themselves.

I can't see us making top 4 at this point. We have squandered that opportunity so many times now it looks like a dream to make top 4 or too good to be true
 
Leicester will lose to Spurs but beat Sheffield United. We will beat West Ham but drop points against Crystal Palace. It will come down to the final game between us and Leicester, I'm sure of it.
 
Thing is we just need one better result than Leicester or Chelsea. Do we expect both sides to get 9 points? Unlikely.

Even if we draw and they lose again it puts us in a good enough position so I’m bitterly disappointed tonight and we haven’t done ourselves any favours but we have a chance.
 
We've just given Chelsea and Leicester confidence, while we've likely lost our own in the process.

Technically we still closed the gap on Chelsea and Leicester after the weekend so it’s disappointing not to be above them but we’re close enough now to get the job done.

Had we lost I would be extremely pessimistic.
 
Some of you need to give your heads a wobble. United have dropped two points for the first time since the first post Covid game. Chelsea just lost 3-0 at Sheffield Utd & Leicester just had a meltdown against Bournemouth. Solanke scored twice!

And you're going to beat us quite comfortably im hearing? Not sure we should bother turning up, like we didn't against City when they were easily going to beat us - And we have little chance of beating Wolves at home, too. Thats the word on the street

It's the matter in which we played. We had no answer to their press despite having better players. So questions would be raised on what exactly are we doing in training.

You're basically hoping that Liverpool are in party mode which looks likely.
 
My worry is we look mentally weak. When the pressure is on we rarely put in a top performance, so I don't fancy us going to Leicester on the final day and winning if we need to. Thursday is a massive game, we have to find a way to beat Palace, they will be right up for it and it looks like West Ham will have something to play for.

Those banking on Liverpool and Wolves Vs Chelsea. Yes, the chavs are trash but Liverpool are on the beach and so will wolves be by the final day.
