Was very weird. The whole thing about “not understanding his position” was something I never heard said about Rooney when he played as a number 9 but was making tackles in our LB position. Funnily enough only CM who I noticed being in bad positions and not understanding the CM role was Trent (within 15 minutes of England first match).. but he’s a Fb so it’s to be expected.

Presumably he absolutely slaughtered Rice then, given he’s a £100m man with vast experience, who completely failed to impose himself on that final?
