Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

How doable is it solo? Think I'd much prefer the PC version but obviously if the entire Caf is PS4..

Me and Brocky are PC and you can only have groups of 4 anyway. I'll end up with it on both PC and PS4 I think but most of the time spent playing it will be PC. Solo will be impossible I think. I mean, solo PVE sure but if you go into the dark zone to get loot you need a group or good luck extracting your loot.

Cool, Yeah if we can get a few for PC I'll definitely go for that, as long as they actually sort out the apparent nVidia issues.

Is the beta only for today? I played it on PS4 yesterday but am off to a gig tonight so probably won't get time to play on PC. I'd be interested to see what these issues are. I heard AMD people saying they had issues too but then again AMD users have issues with life in general.

Don't think I'll bother with the beta. If the reviews are good I'll get the game though, not doing another Destiny which I stopped after a week out of boredom.

NVidia are usually really quick are releasing drivers for AAA games so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Aye, Ubi have done allright by only letting you play one PVE mission and then all you have left to do is the dark zone open PVP stuff. Kept a lot of the game locked. I'm guilty of that, playing the arse out of betas and then just doing it all over again bored when the game releases.

For the drivers, I get horrible flashbacks to Arkham Knight but Ubi said they were determined to build this from scratch rather than have it as a port so I'm hopeful.

Character screenshots including current loadout (only started playing dark zone today so the gear isn't great)

Looks good Damo. Think i'm slowly being convinced to get this :)

Think my only issue with this, is if you want Dark Zone keys and better amounts of Dark Zone Cash, you have to rogue and gun down other players. Grinding out NPC's takes far to long.

Saying that i do like the Rogue Agent dynamic, especially when a man hunt mission going on. Last night had four friends in a group, all pretty much stacked with higher end guns and armour, and being dicks to other groups was pretty fun.

We just sat at the top of the car park extraction zone, letting other groups call in choppers and then massacring them in one hit once the rope drops.
I played with Brocky and @Anustart89 most of last night and we ended up going rogue a lot to try and get some credits from the bounties. One time we ended up triggering manhunt and was at the top of a rope right next to the safehouse. People kept throwing grenades up but couldn't kill us. If they had made a plan to go through the safehouse window (3 or 4 at once) then they'd most likely have killed us but we only had the odd straggler to deal with who went through there.

Damo with ingame beard to compensate fo' real life.
Face was generated randomly. When game is out and we're able to customise our players properly I'll go for one which doesn't have a beard to represent me better.

I'll probably get it on PS4 first but might end up with it on PC too since i don't get a lot of time around my PS4 but my laptop is welded to me i think.

It will hit the minimum, but you won't be able to run it at max that's all with a laptop GPU I would have thought.

Fair enough, not bothered about running it a maximum graphics or anything but if it'll be a bit touch and go there's probably no point risking it. Just stick with PS4 then.

Cina knows exactly what laptop mine is too since he recommended it
I'm sure it's fine. PC specs are always overstated so that developers can cover their arses if there are issues with lower end specs. That's basically the equivalent of the PS4 GPU afterall. I'm sure you'll find a few youtube videos about it anyway after a while.

Think i was playing with you guys earlier late afternoon? I'm zeeeeeeebra. You guys were being good guys then so i didn't shoot anyone. Was quite a few tense moment when we wondered into extractions with a few other groups there.

The shoutgun, if you can get close enough will down another player in like two hits, one if they have weak armour. There was a few times we came across a loner, and i was tempted to just put a shotgun shell in his face. :P

Cool, it's not like I'll be preordering it or anything so I can see how it all goes. Thanks man.

Yeah I remember. Knew you were a caftard but think I confused you with cold-zebra due to the zebra name. Extractions can be very tense.

Been playing solo for past hour... quite a nightmare as I came across a few groups of level 9 yellow bar enemies which wrecked me but managed to get some alright loot. Wasn't better than the stuff I had but sold for quite a few credits. Trying to get it extracted solo is a pain. Found a few groups of rogues camped around extraction zones so had to change my plans and go to a different one where there were a few other people hiding awkwardly hoping that someone wasn't going to go psycho before they got their loot out

Been playing this a few more hours and it really does reek of typical Ubisoft laziness:

Mirrors reflecting game camera instead of actual character
LENkljb.jpg

Ubisoft not knowing how flamethrowers work

"Gritty realism"

Extra modes of transportation

Seriously, its WatchDogs all over again. They've got the foundations of what could be a really fun social game, but couldn't be fecked to actually bring it up to next gen standards or acceptable design levels, as is typically the case with their games. And no being in 'beta' isn't a justifiable excuse considering its pretty much set to release.

There are bugs like that in ever game I've ever played since Unreal Tournament. I'm sure they'll be patched out in time. It's shit, but it's the way the world works now.

I think i'm gonna cancel my pre order and wait for the release to see the actual PVE content available on release. Dont want this to end up like Destiny in terms of story content.

Its not just bugs though its poor and lazy design. The mirror thing might be a small isolated issue but it just shows a lack of effort from their part. It was the same with WatchDogs - heavily downgraded, invisible walls all over the place, PS2-like ragdoll physics, etc. And we can't just brush it aside as how things are considering there are a range of developers, even indie ones, who take pride in what you'd expect to be the bare minimum polish expected in modern games. And its not like Ubisoft don't have the resources.

The mirror I'll agree is lazy, but one thing being lazy doesn't indicate an entire game is the same. That notion in itself is lazy.

Getting stuck on a dog is clearly a bug. It's not an intended design. Stuff like that is ironed out over time. In an ideal world, this would never happen but as we see in any game released ever, it's the way it is these days. Cash in early and fix stuff as and when. It's not unique to Uni.

@Kaos

You'd think people would be more sick of Ubisoft's bullshit by now.

And in three years they've somehow made the game worse. I always assumed games would look better over time, not degrade.

You're comparing a top-end PC version to an XBone version. Sure, there have been downgrades even on the PC version, but that happens in all games these days.

At the end of the day, it's about gameplay. It is an RPG and looks pretty nice as far as RPGs go, tbf.

Oh and I'm not sure where that screenshot is from, but the reflections are fine for me.

Beta extended by 24 hours to Tuesday morning. For those who've played since the start of Beta there's probably little else to do, but for those who got the code yesterday or whenever the extra day is nice

I did decent solo. Hardly got attacked by players (though I did avoid areas where I saw rogues camping out at extraction zones) and most of my deaths came when I tried fighting a bunch of yellow level 9 enemies solo

On PC though - especially with the current cheating problems going on - I imagine it'd be a nightmare.

Couple of responses from Ubisoft on the cheating.

@RedekerKane Of course there are. We're on it, Stephen. Don't you worry your pretty little face.
