Toaster Toes Timo Werner | Tottenham Player

People keep saying stuff like this but what on earth do you expect? We need a striker and can only do loans because off FFP. Who exactly should they bring in?
Whilst not offering a solution, I can say that someone who has scored one goal from open play this season doesn't seem like the answer. If I had a full staff to look into this I would hope to come up with something potentially better, or stick with the dross we've got rather than paying for more dross.

I don't know but we keep doing this, and it hasn't worked yet.

He would've been the best loan striker option i think, therefor we are not getting him.

All in all i'm done with these poor loan striker deals that never work out. Maybe we just need to forget about this season and invest in young, quality players who fit the mould of players we are actually looking for, not 30+ year olds (Choupa Moting/Muller) who do not fit our style of play anyways.

I'm calling it now.

Werner scored 6-10 goals before the season is out and the CAF goes into an almight meltdown!

"We can't even get Timo Werner! Opportunity missed! He was right there for the taking! We're so fecking skint, and inept! Piece of crap club!"

The Werner link never made any sense for us so I'm glad we won't be signing him. Apart from the fact he'd be another ineffectual player in an already dysfunctional attack, he isn't even a proper striker. Chelsea settled on using Werner off the left most of the time towards the end because he was incapable of playing through the middle. Even out of form Garnacho and Rashford are better options in that position.

Spurs makes for sense for him with Son off to the Asia Cup and Spurs playing better football than we do at the moment.

Pretty much a certainty

I actually thought he was going to become a monster of a player at Chelsea but that obviously never happened.

I definitely would have rathered Werner than that Choupo-Moting gimp.

Wonder what if would take to get someone like Cunha from Wolves. You would be hoping for another leap from him but as back up/utility forward he has a lot of attributes I like, good physical and technical abilities, can run with the ball, play across the front line and create for himself and others. Not a great finisher at this stage but Utd need a few more well rounded forwards.

Or is there someone else out there with a similar skillset but who could come cheaper and might have a higher upside?

Yep 100 %, for all that Werner has proven to be pretty rubbish in the PL, there is something about him that would at least allow some people to convince themselves that he might do ok here (myself included), even though he probably wouldn't.

Choupo-Moting mentally would be on a par with Weghorst and Ighalo.

He’s a good player just not a good finisher. Would have been an horrendous fit for us, but will probably excel at Spurs given how well they move the ball around quickly.
Glad he’s not coming to us as we just don’t play well enough for his ability to shine. We need a new style of play for a player like this.

Think he’d be great for Spurs’ offensive style. Chelsea was a bad fit for him under Tuchel.

Wasn’t impressed with him at Chelsea but he does show effort which is a shed load more than Martial and Rashford.

We’ll end up with some random PL reject on deadline day.

This. He isn't clinical enough for a top side, but he works hard and will definitely open up space for the likes of Son & Richarlison, will prolly nick a couple himself.

Decent option for Spurs to add depth. Where's he playing?

Son moved from the middle to left when Richarlison came back into the side and it's 4 goals in 5 appearances for Richarlison since then.

Son away for a few weeks now, Richarlison and Werner can both operate on the left or centrally.

When Son comes back all 3 can play left or centrally. Son will start somewhere obviously. If Richarlison stays in form then Werner on the bench? They just lost that young lad Veliz to injury who was getting minutes as a sub.

He’s an excellent player but we’d be taken to the cleaners on the fee.

It's incredible how many of our rivals keep falling for "Chelsea tax" our ex players/managers and believe they were total victims of their bad form.

Honestly wouldn't be shocked if one of them give us our money back for Cucurella

Werner can operate wide right too. Its when Maddison returns that things will get heated competion wise. Because Kulusevski would be first choice down the right. Whilst Johnson is there too. Whilst Manor Solomon will return to cover the left.

Wolves paid something like 40m for him. We can't afford him right now.
