TNT Sports (formerly BT sports)

You can’t have that level of bias on commentary, it just sounded like mates shouting down the pub.
Came to say exactly that. Like pissed up mates in a pub, nothing remotely professional about it.

You’d hear better down the pub. Savages random predictions throughout is classic pub talk.

Robbie and Rio absolutely disastrous all night. Muddling up their words, Savage just being nasally and talking where there should be silence. Just rubbish.

Rio shouting ‘come on pleaasseee’ at the end there

I quite liked it. Especially when Rio went OHhhh Harry Maguire get up there PLEASE.

What’s with this new fad of co-commentors cheering and yelling like they’re fans. Neville started it but they’re all doing it now.

I enjoyed the commentary but as a United fan I would. It just sounded like two United fan ex players and a commentator.

Have no issue with it. Understand why mon United fans may complain though.

Everything Savage said in praise the opposite then happened. The first free kick with Fernandes tracking back "Look at this." "Game management has been better."

He has been a total betnoir. I wish he would fcuk off.

Jenas already at it in the pre-match.

I’ve been critical of EtH this season but where were the ‘He’s got no bench’ shouts earlier this season.

Hopefully we get one over his former lot, idiot.

I find it really difficult to listen to Jenas. Savage isn't much better either.

It's really strange, you would have no idea they were former professional football players from listening to them.

I mean what special insights do they offer, anything?

Interviewing Hojlund to give him his MOTM award. They ask him to watch Neto's goal and say how he felt. What a strange idea.

TnT is absolutely atrocious. I saw that interview and felt the same. Felt for Hojlund being put in such an awkward situation. They are the worst coverage going. If they didn’t have the champions league and Serie A i would of cancelled by now.

It was extremely weird that they made Hojlund watch that, never seen anything like it.

For a start, we won the game. Who gives a feck? Secondly, he wasn't on the pitch. Lastly, why would you put someone through that? Just bizarre.

Piss poor that. I wish Højlund just said I couldn’t care less about Neto’s goal, it meant nothing in the end. now show me Kobbies winner!!!

Listened to Horncastle quite abit during lockdown on the Gazzetta Italian Football podcast with Richardson and Marcotti. Informative and witty.

I have listened to pretty much all of them. Was gutted they stopped doing them. Made the commute into work a lot more enjoyable. Marcotti could be a little annoying at times.

Can't stand their coverage. Their main commentator 'Fletch' in particular is just horrific.

Agree, but we know sky, bbc etc go for big names rather than anyone whos got something intelligent to add.
True. But the fans are becoming more informed and I think there will be a trend that tilts toward better analysis. I give BT sport huge props for bringing in specialists in leagues. Horncastle, Raf Hogenstin, Sid Lowe etc for serie a/bundasliga/la liga is a great move. They give super interesting overlays on foreign opposition pedigree.

Bringing in James Horncastle post match is all well good but it would be nice if they mastered the art of not showing replays whilst teams are on the attack so we don't have to miss any more goals.

Because it’s their fault they have 12:30 kickoffs, not cause TNT are shite (they are).

Hate to agree with the toothy fecker but he’s right, and to be honest if United were topping that list of 12:30 kickoffs I’d be aggrieved too. We’ve played ten fewer at that time slot (35 to Liverpool’s 45), and that’s enough. However, as a fan attending matches, I like the early kickoff cause it means I have the rest of my Saturday free. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Klopp is correct though in that there’s too much football and the players are overworked, and it’s ALL down to money.

Has TNT now taken away some Italian football? 2 Italian games tonight and not one being shown on this where as last season it use to.

Argh ok. So GW2 will be back on TNT?
Not sure, the Napoli game Sunday 25th and Juve game the day after are both on TNT but not sure if OneFootball have others going forward or if it was just a one off for GW1.

It’s a joke really. They keep putting the prices up but taking away more football.

They’ve wrecked their only watchable football show for Owen Hargreaves and Karen Carney

Commentator was off tonight when it came to factual filler. Thought they have big stat packs and cheat sheets they refer to?

Said it was Mainoo's European debut more than once when he came on. He played twice in the Champions League last season. He might have well have commentated on those matches.

Said Harry Maguire has never scored in Europe - he's scored 2.

Said it was Eriksen's first goal of the season - he scored 2 last week.

Said he can't think of any player who has played for his country in a major tournament (Mainoo at the Euros) before making his European club debut. Already established that was wrong, but there must be loads for different countries who don't have all their players at top clubs. Even if he meant England only - Marc Guehi at the Euros over the summer? Even started in the final. Ivan Toney too, came on in the final.

Darren Fletcher the commentators name and it was like someone gave him a sheet of false stats to read out.

When did Karen Carney move to TNT?

Yet more punditry I'll be skipping this season.
I don’t know, but with airhead Breach and Hargreaves, it was a completely charisma free zone. How can they put those three together and think this will make good viewing?!

He gave us a false stat at one point and said that it "was the first time it had happened since whenever."

Whenever.
