Timothy Fosu Mensah

?

Doesn't make any different to my point whether he's eligible for Turkey or not (although I should have said "talent from English Cat 1 academy").

And personally I think Borg is vastly overrated by the media.Good enough to play for our U18s but next Bale?C'mon.
Oh sorry mate i just wanted to post the new Borg news....the article has actually nothing to do with your post.....my little mistake ;)

I agree Borg is overrated (like most english players....Reece Oxford is apparently the New Rio Ferdinand) but i thought Borg has played very well in the few games in the United shirt

Fosu Mensah captained Netherlands u17s as they beat Finland 2-0 today

These international clearance delays are such a pain in the arse. Shame that (like Januzaj, Pogba, Fornasier etc) the lad's being prevented from getting on with his career.

So I signed him on a free in my fantasy draft as one for the future.

Pretty vague question but how many years do we think before he is challenging or the first team? Or do we think he will make it at all? (I realize there wont have been many chances to see him play yet).

He is 16, atleast another 3 years. Even if he is world class talent i still expect 2 years at the very least.

Funny that we have a 5-page thread for a 16-year-old who hasn't even kicked a ball for us.Talking about Caf and new signing muppetry...

Should feature for us in the next U18s game though.

Is that tweet about him signing for Nike?

He's still in Amsterdam, arent youth players allowed to play immediately when signing, are there certain complications?

You need international clearance, which can take a while. We've had a few summer imports having to wait until October to make their debuts, but I think November is a new record.

The whole youth team have been given a few days at home after the tournament in Slovakia this week. Fosu Mensah didnt play but was with the squad in Slovakia. Youth players have to get international clearance and his hasnt come through yet but will presumably be done in time for the next under 18 game on November 15th

I still have doubt about it.More like because we already have Tuanzebe,Williams and Borthwick-Jackson on defence and they all deserve game times.

Is it a case of converting him to a midfielder or are they just playing him there to build ability on the ball?

He looks good on the ball. It will do no harm playing him every few games in midfield to build ability on the ball but if they want him to play centre half long term then they should play him there most of the time. Look at the issues we have with Phil Jones now due to being played out of position.

This is U18s level and every CB in our academy have played in midfield for at least a couple of occasions at U16s/U18s/U21s level. We have Tuanzebe,Williams and Cam Borthwick-Jackson 3 promising CBs in the same team so it makes more sense to play him in midfield.Nobody can decide which position a player will play long-term at this stage of their development.

Seems like he could be the next Pogba, but looks a bit rough. Some unforced mistakes etc but he's very young so I'm sure that'll be sorted out with more games

Seems good on the ball.

Imposing figure and pretty good athelete.

Pretty good raw materials.

Looks like a phenomenal athlete. So fast and strong. Decent on the ball too. Interesting prospect.

Not playing against Bolton U18's today.

I guess he wouldn't be a Man United player without getting injuries.

Looks like Williams,Riley,Kenyon also injured.Croskery,Thompson etc already out since last week.We would see U15s on the bench soon at this stage.

Image proof of our current U18s "injury crisis".Except for Warren Joyce (?) and a few of his McGuinness's staffs everyone standing are our injured players!Nearly a full XI out.

strong and an imposing figure. comfortable on the ball. and quick too. some of his tackles are just

hope to see him developing into a top player.

I wonder when we first will see (and hear) someone outside Old Trafford or Carrington screaming: "Crutches - get your crutches here"
