Thrashing Barcelona | Build up thread

Some of you are perpetually miserable. Lots of posters here were calling for us to get the Liverpool game earlier this season to be called off to spite the Glazers since apparently we were going to get spanked anyway. That certainly aged well

A lot can change between now and February. We'd have had more time for Ten Hag to get the team playing in his vision, we'd hopefully have our injured players back and firing (Varane, Martial, Antony), and others being played into form (Sancho). And we're also forgetting that Barca aren't in the Europa league by accident. They simply weren't good enough to make the latter stages of the CL. They are definitely beatable, and are in no way a more challenging opponent than the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, both of whom we've already beaten this season.

I do feel like a lot of you are having a knee-jerk doomer mentality on the back of that Villa game. To quote Dutch van der Linde - "Have some god damn faith".

They only know one way of playing. They only have a good player (Lewa) amongst mediocre unreliable and inconsistent players. Their coach is a dogmatic fool who thinks he can win playing like they used to 10 years ago with a team nowhere near the quality they had on their golden years.

We will win! They are poor opposition (lewa aside). And they are no more Uefa’s darling. United will defeat Barcelona. Mark my words. We just need Martial and Varane to be fit. The only worry is not having martinez on the first match, but Lewandowski goes missing against top opposition, their midfield is lackluste, fati is a nobody and dembewho disappears at the big occasion.

Bye bye to the team previously sponsored by uefa. We are MANCHESTER UNITED, they are little leverlona a team of excuses, outdated football and ridiculous antics.

We do know where Van Der Linde led his gang to in the end
