Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Interesting that Steve Austin is going to be present... it's probably WWE Network launch or some shit.

Probably the most logical answer, Wonder will that effect Skys coverage i.e Live events, as a cost cutting scheme? or just the same as On Demand

So whats this big announcement they have called a press conference for? Jake Roberts rumble return??

Yep, apparently they leaked it by accident. Everyone knew anyway since they were using that new logo.

Wonder if we will get it in the UK at some point, and how it would work with the current sky sports deal in place.

When is sky's contract up?

If they get enough subscribers it will make them completely self sufficient, no more network pressure, no more worrying about running over time, money from adverts.

WWE network looks legit. $9.99 a month, every PPV of the year for free, and all the past matches and past PPVs on there. Could sit and watch the entire attitude era if you wanted by the looks of it, then watch every Wrestlemania since the first one after the other.

Seems a tremendous bargain on the face of it - I'm even tempted and I haven't really watched for over a decade, the hype of the damn announcement (which everyone already knew about) drew me in to watch the broadcast and now I'm excited.

Steve Austin still awesome

Guess it will be £9.99 over here, shame no raw and smackdown live but that doesn't bother me

Holy shit the wwe network looks awesome, shane it's not scheduled to be available here until late 2014/early 2015.

I wonder if I can subscribe via my smart dns, would probably need a disposable debit card and a U.s address.

This WWE Network sounds like an absolute bargain. 10 Dollars a month including the PPV plus all the other stuff is incredible really.

I want it. Let's hope that late 2014/early 2015 actually means that, and we don't get another massive delay.

In sad news, Mae Young has been taken off life support. Don't think she's died just yet, but it's only a matter of time :(.

Wonder why it's taking until the end of the year for international release... Maybe they might speed up the UK release as they know it's a hot market?

If Bryan gets a proper championship run before it's released in the UK then I'll get it.

The network requires you to pay £42 as a down payment to subscribe for 6 months before you can avail of the $9.99 a month deal.

Still quite good I gotta say. I take my hat off to them on this one, they've done good.

One thing is for sure though, last night proved who the talent is. HHH, Shawn, Stephanie all reading a cheesy promo from a Teleprompter and Austin doing an uncut, improvised, fun promo. . . Thats whats missing in today's era. Even The Rock has his promos written down and he's a smug, arrogant, holier than thou piece of shit these days

Is that what they mean by 6 month commitment? I just thought that meant that you were contracted to at least 6 months like when you take out a sky package you take out a 12 month commitment?

I dunno. The problem isn't so much the value, it's that most people already have free or subscribed access to everything except the PPVs already anyway, and most of the PPVs these days are utter garbage.

Another way of looking at it. Everything is on YouTube and I lived through the Attitude era and the Monday night war...But then again, their market is kids these days and they'll probably get Mammy and Daddy to get it for them...They'll get a shock when they see the AE

Know your role and shut your mouth, jabroni.

Wonder how much censorship will affect the Attitude Era stuff? Chair shots to the head are a no-no these days and are censored if they're showing for a video package

You pipe down boy or I'll make you famous.

They said it won't be censored or unedited....I am guessing though that they will not be showing Austin on Taker's symbol though. Massive shit storm at the time over that...Would be even bigger these days with their new image

Considering Benoit matches will be shown with a warning, I think they'll probably show a lot of that stuff - just with warnings attached.

What????

I can see it now "Warning: This man is a messed up murderer, who is dead and can't harm you or anyone now. Parental guidance advised"

How they hell are they going to warn people over Benoit??

On a side note

The network stuff is absolutely outstanding. The 6 month payment stuff shouldn't matter what so ever, it's fecking immense. Unbelievable price.

I'd expect they're testing the waters with it in the US which is why it's not going to arrive anywhere else until later this year or early 2015. I'd expect SmartDNS could work with this, if so I'll be signing up for the US launch.

Regarding the censorship...

If you fondly remember a time before WWE went TV-PG, WWE Network will include Attitude Era content in all its grimy glory. That’s unrestrained, uncensored and unedited, just the way you remember it. In other words, you can ease up on the bootleg YouTube searches, call your middle-school buddies over and relive the moments that made you go scream, “Oh hell yeah!”

Good stuff.
