Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

WWE has gone so downhill since the 'Monday night wars' competition with WCW.

No competition means they have gotten lazy and it shows. I could blame it on turning PG as an easy excuse, but it's so much more than that. Vince just doesn't seem to care anymore.

Back in that 97-01 phase, he put his sweat and blood (literally too) into it. Now he's happy enough to let others do it all and just focus on sponsorship's and WWE Films.

Not even an Austin return would do anything now. He wouldn't be allowed to do the fingers, he wouldn't be allowed to drink, he wouldn't be allowed to smash people with chairs. He'd ruin his legacy. No wonder he's staying miles away from it.

The problems with Cena are obvious. I don't blame Cena himself, but they have made him into a Barney the dinosaur and they are shoving him down peoples throats even though they are sick of him. A heel turn and darker side would solve it, but no. They would lose money on sponsors.

I wish some billionaire fecker would take over TNA and sign all of WWE's biggest talents so that WWE would be forced to try to be good again.

In fairness its improved a bit lately overall, still some terrible episodes, could have done without the 3 hour RAWs though I still feel. A good chunk is just replays.

It generally takes me about half an hour to watch raw the day after, the majority of it is filler which I have no intention of sitting through.

Jericho giving Fandango instructions last night was brilliant though.

They had a three man tag match against Khali, Ryder and I want to say Justin Gabriel but I can't remember.
Plus lots of replays of them from the last couple of weeks, which aren't really worth watching.

Heel, sure.

Yes, he cut a heel promo.

This doesn't of course mean that wwe will have the balls to turn him heel, but that was a heel promo.

A heel promo is something that's designed to get you heat, I didn't see that.

If he does turn heel you can point to it and say it was foreshadowing, sure, but they've foreshadowed a heel turn in a lot of his feuds.

Cheers. First reaction is that it's a waste of them, but I suppose regular matches are good, and they can't be against three top faces every week.

Fair play mate. It seems to be a huge topic of debate on many wrestling websites right now though.

I don't think it was a heel promo. People have latched onto the similarities with Austin's promo before 2001 match vs Rock. Cena also 'needed' to win last year and he did not turn heel and it's not happening soon. With Show now looking much more like a face there will be some turns after mania though(Orton and Ryback IMO).

I don't think Ryback will turn heel straight after Wrestlemania. They'll probably want to do the rematch of him vs. Henry at Extreme Rules. Because Extreme Rules is basically Wrestlemania + weapons (and better).

I see Ziggler winning the title at WM and Langston turning on him afterwards.

Eugene! I love that theme and its guitar solo for no real reason.

Shame that Hassan didn't go further.

Was just watching RAW. Gave up halfway through the Barrett/Miz match, God that was dull.

Just noticed that myself. I fecking love Y2J. You can tell he loves the industry, and new talent.

My 2 boys have started to watch this, nothing much has changed from when I watched it years ago, most of the same people are in it.
Was looking on the net and found this.

would love to see Stone Cold again, but are his knees not knackered?

To quote Austin, he reckons he can go for another run if the right opportunity came along from a business sense...He's healed up according to him and feels better then ever. But he won't come back. Austin wants nothing to do with the current product. I don't blame him

His character just wouldn't work in a PG raw. He could get a masive nostalgia pop but what could he really do? No beer, no middle fingers.

Additionally, I'm not sure I want to watch someone convicted of domestic violence in the WWE.

Yeah, seeing a neutered Stone Cold is no fun. I remember the last time he showed up, when he did that thing where he stands on the turnbuckle and raises his middle fingers, the camera made sure to show an angle where his hands couldn't be seen.

Are you a United fan? I wonder what your views on certain players behaviour there and if you're comfortable watching them

His son passed away. Only in his mid 20's I think.

He was 24, it seemed like was just just getting his life together as well with him doing a few appearances with his dad.

He did have a history of heroin abuse though, which is why none of the promoters wanted to sign him.

And I'm more than comfortable to watch someone who's had a string of extra-marital affairs. I wouldn't do it myself, and I'd hate him if I was a friend/relative of his wife, but I'm not, and it's not illegal so therefore not my business.

Then there's the added sensitivity of the domestic violence charge in the context of a sports entertainment industry based around violence.

I'm not saying what Austin did was right...Far from it!

But to say you're uncomfortable watching because of it when the team you support consists of people cheating outside marriage and a player who has tossed himself over the internet, is a bit much. Add to the fact their are TV stars, for example, who are coming forward saying they knew about JS and what he done while he was alive. Musicians who are doing disgusting things like forcing a girl against her will to do things with a fish(See Led Zep)...I could go on..

My point is, there are pricks everywhere and if you're uncomfortable watching him, then you wouldn't watch many people on TV.

Not having a dig at you. I just find it interesting is all

People are not beyond redemption, I acknowledge that, and I can't say he should never work anywhere ever again. But paying Austin money to pretend to beat people up, on the tv show where he and his ex-wife (who he beat) used to work, is quite different to watching someone who couldn't keep it in his pants play football.

There is precedent too, Drew McIntyre's ex-wife was released from her WWE contract when she was arrested for assaulting him in a hotel. And I don't even know if she was convicted.
