He turned them down because they wanted him to go to rehab. It’s clear as day he’s a mess.

He was completely out of it the other week as well in that ladder match.
Yes and they released him. When his drug tests came back clear they begged him to come back and were offering him hall of fame next year, and he turned them down. He wanted to move.

People seemingly like to forget that later part.

They offered him a spot in the hall of fame, not on the roster wrestling.

It would also be on the roster, stop trying to argue against what actually happened to suit your narrative. When he was cleared they wanted him back and not in AEW with matt, this is a fact. Jeff turned them down, this is an indisputable fact. That's the reason he's not in WWE anymore, that was his choice.

Yep. They wanted him back as a wrestler, hall of fame was the thing they threw in to try and sweeten the deal and stop him going to AEW

Jimmy Uso faced no punishment for his most recent DUI. WWE clearly dont care about those.

I don't think it can ever be seriously argued that wwe cares about its wrestlers except for it they can make profit or pop ratings

Learnt the other day, they will run and pay for rehab amongst other stuff for their former wrestlers, even the ones in other companies. Can't argue against that.

Has absolutely nothing to do with AEW Vs WWE though does it? Literally no has brought that up except you but whatever.

Fair

There's a few posters in this thread that get really touchy when it comes to AEW. AEW became cool and now I guess its cool to hate it?

Sticky point is that everybody knew Jeff was in bad shape but they were making fun of Jeffs “erratic” behaviour on AEW tv as a nod to hood winking WWE.
It hasn’t aged well and really should be addressed and a few wrestling reporters need to step up as well.

But he was clear and that "erratic" behaviour had nothing to do with substance so what exactly needs addressing?

Not sure anybody believes them anymore. I’m sure Matt and Jeff, let’s say, haven’t been 100 percent with their statements. WWE didn’t randomly offer Jeff rehab out of thin air imo.

It was WWEs drug test ffs

I'm done, people seemingly do not want to look at the actual facts and happy to live in their own made up narrative because it's jucier.

Done with what? He might have passed that test but I believe he’s been a hazard to himself long before that and his head is fried because of it. Plus Matt Hardy isn’t a reliable source for news anyway.
WWE didn’t get a negative drug test and decide to offer him rehab. Connect the dots ffs.

The test hadnt come back yet. They took the test and told him he needs to go to rehab assuming he would fail it, because of the strangeness of him walking out on the match

Turned out he passed that particular test and he didnt want to come back.

Now he's failed a different one after driving which is probably worse. I only say probably because if you're wrestling under the influence you could cripple or kill someone just like you could in a car. So its very serious too. But in a car you could perhaps cause multiple vehicles to crash or hurt multiple people in 1 car.

You're right, that didn't happen. At all. In the slightest. Literally didn't happen, since they offered him rehab before his test result came back.

I think this argument is going in circles unnecessary

Jeff hardy needs help and it should start with himself and if not those close to him. The only thing is it's lucky he hasn't caused harm or worse killed somebody with his actions

 I'd say. It's pretty obvious Jeff's problems are with alcohol as opposed to drugs.

Someone made reference to the r/squaredcircle crowd on the last page but ironically the level of discourse on there is miles ahead of this thread which is basically on a par with twitter most of the time.

Warner media have told AEW to immediately stop all advertising of Jeff Hardy.

Maybe now, Khan will get tough finally.

Isn't it the other way around? From what I'd seen the quote was from Meltzer, who said it was AEW telling Warner Media.

Not a bad statement.. when I saw ‘alleged behaviour’ I feared the worst

I assume that "alleged" is required from a legal point of view, given that there hasn't been any conviction or anything like that yet - the same as when news outlets report on court cases etc.

The report I saw, headline was that way round, maybe the headline was initially wrong?

Seems like the best you could reasonably hope for. The statement did take a while to come out, but perhaps they wanted to talk to Jeff and inform him first and tell whether he had indicated he would go with the treatment
Yeah agreed
And I think meltzer said as much so makes sense

Was Jeff injured again? Don't these thinks usually happen when he is out injured?
He told the cops he was seeing a doctor about a brain scan. It’s shocking he was booked for a ladder match before that.

What a sorry sight...

Why do they do sobriety tests though? Just use a breathalyser. There's science in that rather than "Perform these silly acts for me."

So Vince moves the wider McMahons out of key positions of power in WWE, then someone gives this story to the NYT. Seems as if someone is trying to engineer that post-McMahon WWE.

Vince is a scum bag but I bet this happens to every billionaire.
It’s the Laurinitis part that’s a scandal imo. No wonder Stephanie jumped ship from that shitshow

 that's one way to shift blame away from Vince I guess...

All billionaires are scum bags? I don’t think me expecting that of him is in any way shifting the blame. Hiring John and having those around him sign NDAs is literally disgusting

if anyone non vince is going to fully take over WWE I bet its Nick Khan. He's 1 step away already and he is the one who secured the huge tv deal. Makes sense for him to want to make more money out of it after going this far

Read your post again.
You're almost making an excuse for him there

Anyway imagine it comes out these payments are why WWE had to make budget cuts
