WWE really need to capitalise on the whole Rusev Day stuff.
They failed after he came out at WM on a freakin Tank.
Hes even more entertaining now. Putting him with English was good.
 
They are not capitalising on Rusev. They had him and English lose to Fashion Police the other week, a low rank team who they also failed to properly capitalise on and made the great decision of taking the fashion files, one of the few entertaining segments on Smackdown, and making it online only. That actually seems to be a running theme with their segments, that content online is so much better that what they stick on tv. The likes of Becky, Corbin and even Mojo have cut some really good promos that were stuck on their youtube channel that would have been better off being on tv to help them get more over.
 
Calling it, Paige is gonna be no. 30 entrant and win the rumble.

Generally lasts around an hour so I'd say get up about 2:45 in case it's a little longer.

Pretty surprised that the Women's RR is the only Women's match on the card. I think both Charlotte and Alexa should be defending, but I suppose it makes sense given that over half the show is going to Rumble matches. This guarantees that both will keep their titles until at least WM, though.

I think I would almost cry if Reigns wins the Royal Rumble again :lol:

They need every available women to be in the Rumble because they decided to go with 30 instead of 20 which would have made more sense. There's something like only 18 women on the main roster that can be in the rumble so we are getting 12 NXT call ups/legends which is a lot.

Yeah, before the announcement I expected 20 participants and a 30-40 minute slot. There's plenty of times where a wrestler has competed in a match and entered the rumble though. Just space them apart and have your two-match people enter the Rumble late on.

There are a few more in the match at least, if we assume Charlotte and Alexa are both in the Rumble, that's 20. If Paige weren't injured, it'd be 21. Stephanie is almost odds on to enter from Ringside, so it's likely there were only originally eight planned special guests / NXT pushes.
 
First NXT takeover I've watched and it's very good.

The crowd make it.

Mass weapons use and blood makes me warm with nostalgia for better times.
 
@Mystry Maria Kanellis would be a surprise being she looks ready to burst. She must be at least 8 months pregnant, surely not even Vince would put a pregnant woman in the Rumble.

The no female title fights is kinda weird. Charlotte and Bliss have kind of taken a back seat recently. Either time saving or they just couldn’t get the numbers they wanted with Paige being injured and so on to have a 30 woman rumble.

Probably would if he could get away with it. The spectacle of a heavily pregnant woman flying over the top rope would make him laugh.

Forgot she was pregnant. I was just thinking who haven't we seen for a while and just remembered her and Mike Bennet.

Anyway takeover was great yet again. They seem to be incapable of putting on a bad show.
 
Gargano/Almas was one of the greatest matches in recent WWE. The match itself was outstanding, factor in the character or both, especially Gargano and then the story and you've got something very special. An absolute must watch match.
 
Is the event due to finish at 4am tonight? I’m setting my alarm to watch both rumble matches before work tomorrow. Thinking 5am will be enough time for me to watch both matches and leave enough time for me to let the PPV finish and be uploaded to the network? I need to start getting ready for work at 8am...

Was always gonna happen this. Over the past year Cody has become just as, if not bigger than omega.

Would not surprise me if omega jumped to WWE now.
 
Only read the highlights these days but royal rumble and wrestlemania are always special. "Working from home" tomorrow :)
 
Gargano/Cien was fantastic.

Spoiler from the match:

There's a shot of a tear just slowly trickling down Gargano's face after Cien hits the Double Knee against the ringpost, and you can just see the "...I can't win this" feeling starting to sink in for him. Incredible storytelling.

If I wasn't working tomorrow I'd watch the Rumble live. I'm still sort of tempted anyway. As it stands, I'll probably just go into full antisocial/phone off/no computers mode and try to avoid any sort of spoilers.
