Indeed, that game was amazing !

After very bad Fifa 97, EA Sports gave us 98 and it was a very huge step forward for this series.

- Good selection of stadiums (17 of them)
- Different weather conditions
- Great music from Crystal Method and Blur of course (Awesome intro)
- Indoor stadium
- Great overall atmosphere. You could just feel the tension before World Cup 98 through this game, it was so awesome.

...and finally gameplay.

Brilliant game. United vs Liverpool was always first game of the league season on mine. Solskjaer was set to take all United's free kicks for some reason.

And when you're running down the wing you could guarantee that the cross would find your man on the far post, and graphics slightly slowed just as he headered it for full effect when it went in. Ah nostalgia!

Everytime I hear "I get knocked down" by chumbawumba, I keep thinking of Fifa 98. Loved that game.

Wait no that was world cup 98.

Loved this game, remember Ronaldo and Weah being the only ones over £20million, along with Schmeichel oddly enough.

Sensible Soccer. By. A. Country. Mile.

Is the correct answer.

Actually Sensible World of Soccer was the best version in my opinion.

I still play it all the time. I'm in a online league and am pretty good.

On the Xbox Live arcade version I was 26th on their leaderboard (about 4000 people on there) last time I checked.

Twonks! Nothing beats Mexico '86 with its spinning ball arcade machine and the best World Cup music ever.

You haven't lived.

Have to agree....

for me FIFA 98 and World Cup 98 were just amazing....EA Sports really hit the sweet spot with those 2 games...everything was perfect (for it's time of course)...stadiums, teams, gameplay, commentary, and the soundtrack for BOTH those games were awesome....

EA Sports really had it going ...up until FIFA 2002/2003 when Pro Evo just shat all over it
