This is the best thing we’ve done in years for the atmosphere…

Hope they bring out the 'believe' banner if we make it further into the Europa League.

Crap song, and sounds like some don't even know what words to sing after the opening. Feels made for TV.

Bruno asked for it to be played pre match apparently.

Good on him. If I was a player I’d much rather listen to the whole stadium belting out a song than listening to Stone Roses or Rocky theme, which has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

Not a fan. Give me glory glory man united.

Hmm I’m not a fan, I’d say that feels like more manufactured crap to me. Always feels a bit cringeworthy to me, even when we’re actually winning. I’ll always join in though but it’s never done anything for me.

Thank you, at least I'm not the only one. It's a depressing song, play something uplifting.

There’s a reason sings like this, the shite the scousers and city sing, sweet Caroline etc are big favourites. They get everyone singing. Nobody goes to these events to listen to music.

Yeah, you wanna be pumped up before a match. This is too soothing. Glory glory man united is our best song.

Again, I disagree for me personally. I find it a bit cringeworthy.

It's shite, way too manufactured and a bland copycat of certain rival clubs who play a bloody song before the game. Atmosphere comes from people not PA systems; it's already into Anfield territory where 80% of the stadium have a little two minute sing pre-game and then sit in silence for 90 minutes.

This is the only pre game song I can remember that gets the whole stadium singing even for the smaller games. Especially when the football is poor.

Yep, I really want to like it, honestly - but christ no. Manufactured crap.

I've started going in on kick off to try to miss it.

Miserable sod! What do you prefer? I spent years cursing the club for blasting out shite before the game, even the big fixtures, and killing the atmosphere pre kick off. Some years they turned the music off as somebody had obviously said something about it. But this gets everyone singing and the atmosphere continues into the start of the game.

It’s easily the best thing they’ve done in the 20+ years I’ve been going.

Yeah can't say I'm a fan, it's obvious what we're trying to do, but if its the best we can do I'd rather we just didn't.

As above, it gets the fans singing and up for the game. Miles better than boasting music and killing the atmosphere.

The rocky fanfare was incredible, I still remember the players entrance and oppo team already feeling scared

I find it too generic. If I was an opponent I’d get pumped up by it too.

I know I’ll sound like a miserable bastard but I’ve always hated that song.

Not going to lie, it never really did anything for me until they used it like this and now I love it. Used to hate it actually when everyone clapped along and the clapping got faster and faster and everyone gave up on it.

Everyone around me in the ground keeps singing ‘Take me home, take me home” which is annoying.

I think it's a good move

After all anything that gets more people singing is a positive and this undoubtedly has - not sure why anyone would have a problem with it but fans moan about anything nowadays !

Exactly. Love the song or hate it, it gets everyone singing and I think the atmosphere is getting better at the start of games at least because of it.

I like it.

I'd also say, despite everything, the overall atmosphere has been decent at most matches this season.

Yeah I agree, that’s why I’m liking this so much because I feel like it’s getting people up and singing, which continues into the match.

100%, we don't get any credit for it - Ipswich at home in the most miserable run of my Utd supporting life was very good last week.

Because this is getting everyone in the mood for making some noise before a ball is even kicked!

I like it, but I'm not sure it has helped.

I genuinely think it has. I don’t know why but it’s caught on more I feel in the last couple of months and I feel like the atmosphere is getting better again. Which is unheard of given the poor performances. Under Fergie there were worse atmospheres when we were winning than some recent games.

It's been played for years. Nothing new. The atmosphere is shite. There are many regurgitated chants that are recycled in a 'one size fits all' kind of a way. Most of the newer ones are dreary and not uplifting at all. Old Trafford feels miserable. A funeral like procession, aside from the odd decent performance against a big club.

Stick with the Stone Roses link - Love Spreads would be a good one to walk out to. Or She Bangs the Drums.

It's not for me. I feel like it's trying to copy the scousers and it leaves a sour taste since it's an American style song reminding me of the Glazers.

@pocco , you don't like glory glory man united?! Blasphemy! It's definitely cheesy but that adds to the charm of it to me. Plus it's incredibly catchy!

How could this not pump you up before entering the pitch at Old Trafford as a United player:

The best football song ever; just beating out three lions!

Not a fan. Feels too much like Liverpool, and more recently, Arsenal. But also don’t think we’re going to generate anything less manufactured and any atmosphere is better than nothing I guess.

Fans also turn their nose up at anything organised in a more ‘ultra’ way so there’s no pleasing everyone.

I wondered when this started, and if it was a recent thing. I like it.

Can't stand the United Rose song, it sounds like a dirge.
Agree. Why do we use a US Country and Western rip-off as our anthem? I hate to admit it but I do envy those go get to sing YAWN (spits!) it is impressive - and intimidating!
(Auto-correct insists on YAWN but you know what I was trying to write!)

I know the song has been around for years but I’ve only really noticed it recently immediately before games. Usually I’m not in the stands till right on kick off, which doesn’t help. Agree on the rest. I miss these days…

We used to have a wide catalogue of songs and chants but we don’t often come up with new ones for players these days. I suppose it stems from not feeling much connection with them and obviously us being a bit crap.

I do feel like it is finding its way back slowly though. The ETH years were terrible in terms of atmosphere. The latter part of the Ole years too. But it’s never been the same since Fergie left, and I suppose that says more about the supporters really which is sad. Success has dried up and the support has with it.

The atmosphere over the last five years bar obvious dips at the end of each managers tenure is far better than it was in the proceeding ten IMO.

That's thanks to various initiatives from the TRA, and until of late - the club itself like relocating people to the Stretford End.

2005-2015 was awful for standard home games. It's better now.

Naturally we also had huge games in those seasons and had better highs.

We need some new songs.

Player songs yes.

In terms of in general, its more we have lost the classics.

I think TRA have been great for the atmosphere in general but they repeat 3/4 of our most recent garbage efforts alongside niche stuff like Jip Jaap Stam or fecking Rooney songs at 0-0.

Yeah I don't like to criticise those that make an effort like the TRA do, but I really hate 'kicking a blue' and signing for old players is fine when we're winning but feels a bit wrong when we're playing like crap.

To me it’s quite fitting to our current predicament. A hopeful song to get us back where we used to be.

Get the rocky fanfare and glory glory back when we actually look like we can be champions again.

Yeah, two minutes of a little singalong for Snapchat and then they sit on their arses in silence for 90 minutes. The only way to build an atmosphere is for the supporters to organically make noise which was building pre-Covid when the clu were turning music off more pre-game and allowing the Stretford End to be heard. Now they just drown us out with a song that nobody in there wants to hear. It's manufactured garbage as I said earlier.
