Things you expect to see happen in the summer's transfer window

I think that some of the transfers that relatively small clubs like Everton and Watford make will blow some people away. I expect players to start leaving really high profile clubs to come and join the premier league.

Agreed. Do not be surprised to see Pique signing for West Brom or Dybala moving to Newcastle.

England will be the worst team at the Euros but the value of all our players will double & Hodgson will get a new contract.
We will also buy Flintoff from cricket.

_____ from European minnow ______ signs for _________ : It's a dream come true (Who are Bournemouth?)

I don't think United spending £200m on players would make us competitive for top 4, I don't think we need to spend anything to compete for top 4. £200m should be making us title favourites. Why do you seem to think we need to spend £7bn to have a chance of not losing to City by more than 5 goals?

We could spend all the money in the world, but with this manager and coaching staff nothing will change. New management setup should be the first priority.

I think City will go for big transfer, possibly Pogba coming in and some players to appease inner muppet in Pep.

Chelsea will not invest that much and will look mostly for value with maybe one big signing coming in.

Arsenal will be linked with lots of players but will eventually sign 1 big name player who will be deemed as someone who will turn them into title challengers immediately.

Liverpool will make a lot of shrewd buys with some players who were considered terrible to average abroad but will actually turn out excellent buys. This is how Klopp rolls.

United will be linked with plenty of big names with none of them coming off. We will have a frustrating Summer with van Gaal constantly chasing players we have no chance of signing and eventually landing some surprising transfers but none of them huge buys.

Mid-table teams will spend heavy money but mostly on players who failed abroad and will be fooled into thinking they're buying top young talent from France and Germany while actually getting average footballers mostly. Some gems will be found though, if only due to sheer volume of influx of foreigners into the league.

Sure but this is not really an option I think. We will have the same managerial duo next season so it's important that we get as much as possible from current squad.

Sounds fun.

I expect to see City make some huge signings. Pogba is a good shout and I think Pep will talk some big players into going there.

Liverpool will probably get someone like Gundogan as their marquee signing. He'll live to regret it, but I think Klopp will go all out to get someone in that he knows and feels can improve them a lot.

Chelsea seem to have pulling power simply by being known as a billionaire club and by being in London, so I'd expect them to grab a striker (Lukaku back seems possible) and possibly Greizmann or something, or Mahrez if Griezmann goes elsewhere.

Arsenal seem to keep pulling off one surprisingly top signing most summers lately, so maybe we'll see Isco or someone similarly improbable go there.

Leicester will pick up some bargains and may see Mahrez and Vardy leave, actually, Vardy would fit nicely at Liverpool...

Tottenham will retain their players mostly, and make a couple of good, but uninspiring signings from mid table clubs.

We'll struggle to attract players as they'll see us as being something of a sinking ship and won't want to play under Van Gaal and his 'tactics'. We might be able to get Mahrez if we overpay, but I expect a summer of disappointments. I'd completely revise this if we were to get Mourinho, but we won't.

So everyone else will do fantastically well, and of course we'll do terrible. This despite the fact that the past couple of seasons we've bought more first teamers than anyone else and are the richest club in the league. Zzz very boring. Most people have been happy with our transfer dealings it's how LvG utilises them that is the problem

Even if we finish outside the top 4? I can't see it...

City will probably be spending £100m+ and with Guardiola...think we need to spend £150-£200m this summer if we want to compete for the title next year (assuming Mourinho comes in)

We have the money anyway so I hope they don't hold back.

Edit - read your other posts and you think LVG will still be here next year? Surely not

Yes, I agree we need to spend a lot to compete for the title. Even more to be competitive in Europe. But he's talking about at least £200m to compete for top 4 - this is ridiculous.

Yeah there's no way we need that to get top 4, could probably do it with only a manager change

I've been happy with most of our signings too. I even rate Darmian and just think he's suffering from low confidence.

I simply think that we'll struggle to get players to sign for us, knowing that Van Gaal will be managing them, having seen the football we've been playing, how it has affected the players we have signed and with no CL football on offer.

We've struggled to get top talents before, despite being rich, and we'll have more top teams to contend with now that the restraints are officially off City and Chelsea will be spending huge to get back on top too.

I expect the most movements in the transfer window since a long time. Most big clubs will be very active, the world record fee will be broken, probably multiple times, Real Madrid will have a key role in and out.

EPL will spend huge amounts of cash, with many midtable clubs spending upwards of £50m. A few more good players will join China.

People will start raging that we didn't sign anyone even before the transfer window will open, like every year.

A small handful of clubs will each sign a player very early prompting threads about how we are sitting on our ass letting ALL the players go to other teams and we will miss out. Added claims of us not moving fast enough which allows other clubs to come in for players we want, ignoring the fact that if other clubs want a player they are going to make moves.

Expect positive euphoria combined with pure rage and transfer muppet riot 24/7. Every window on the forum is something else and if Maureen will become the new boss and do something controversial on the start there will be meltdowns, forum wars, gifs and pretty much the whole Caf lulz package.

It's obvious as the Gaitan links.

Wait for it.

The OP will start the summer in high spirits, as he normally does, buying into all the retarded transfer rumours surrounding us.

The OP will be in a depressive state at the end of the window after we don't sign Ronaldo, Bale, Muller, Neymar etc. City will be proclaimed Champions after signing Pogba and a few others.

We need at least 4 quality players
Yeah but not at 50m a pop. That would be absolutely bat shit insane, all four of them would be on 100k/pw+ as well going for silly money figures as a starter. I certainly don't want to see us spend 200m on four players, but that is just me I guess.
