That's a great gesture by the club and I think he deserves it along with the other two who were honoured. I agree it looks nothing like him though.

Videos of the statues on the Arsenal website (click the links) along with screenshots of a closeup of the Chapman and Adams ones (Adams' face is a better resemblance in that you can guess who it is of but that's about it):

Does this make the Arsenalification of the stadium complete?

Great turn out. I'm sure Dave Chappelle, Lee Evans and the Fat Controller are chuffed to bits.

Those are some terrible pieces of work to celebrate some legendary names in that club's history.

They should take a leaf from the Busby, and the "holy trinity" statues at United.

8 seasons at a club does not warrant a statue IMO, even though he was amazing.

The statue looks shit too

This. He's not worthy. He left arsenal to sign for a champions league rival. Plus I bet Irish Goons must be torn on this.

It should have been Charlie George or David Rocastle, even Wrighty has a shout.

Arsenal's top scorer doesn't deserve a statue? As it happens only two United players have scored more than he has for Arsenal, for United. Namely Charlton and Law.

1 Double, and one Invincible season, nearly a Champions League. He did everything but retire there.

What happens when someone beats his record? Melt him down?

I can understand why he's been chosen but I think there are more deserving players. Plus he's still playing, he could sign for Spurs...

Give me a Charlie George statue laying down Jesus style.

That is quite true.

Alan Sunderland with his porno muzzy screaming to the sky in 79 or Wenger arms folded on the OT dugout roof.

Pat Rice should get one too.

just because he's recent history doesn't mean its not deserved, he's probably the best player to ever pull on their rag of a shirt

its a bit of an odd pose for a statue though, how big is it? if its accessible i can see many a rival fan getting photos of him blowing them
