I feel so too. But he's 22 and Barcelona currently have four midfielders that are better than him. Hopefully he's frustrated as feck.

Who? Busquets doesn't play the same position, Iniesta is better, yes, so that's one, Xavi is getting old enough that he won't block Thiago for long, so he doesn't really count, and Cesc should stick to long balls.

Lawl fabregas really is seen as a nothing player by you guys eh...

That makes it three midfielders on two positions. Xavi is not that old considering his role and Fabregas is pretty versatile. At least that's how I rationalise it..

I think he'll get a bumper contract at Barcelona, and end up staying, at least another season. Barcelona have too much at stake financially to just give up on a player worth at least twice the sell on clause.
This is what I dont get. Why would they sign him up now and then sell him down the line? Why? The further the years progress, the more chances he has of starting for them since Xavi will retire. If they give him a new contract, then he will likely stay at Barca for quite some time.

If this deal happens I will believe Osman to United will be a dead deal!

He would be viewed more positively, had he not been so expensive, and had he not been so damn clumsy. Trust him to lose the ball in tight spots.

He needs those new Warrior boots.

I's not like you need to actually ask the people on the streets what's going on. I imagine he reads enough Spanish press to know what's going on.

I think physical proximity is underrated. I used to know more about Seattle teams when I lived there. And I follow the hawks pretty close.

You're most likely right.

I am just assuming the same scenario as past season Thiago not getting enough games - In which case he might push for a move himself, and Barcelona will get twice the money.

All footballers love money but I think he genuinely feels he can get a place in the Spanish squad for next year's WC. I think he just wants playing time for now. Money he knows will follow no matter where he goes.

Might as well get in here, when he's a United legend, this thread will go to the classics, and I can say I was there!

lol

The thing is though, if it's playing time he wants to secure a first team spot in the Spanish national team at the WC, he'll probably know there's more chance of that happening if he gels with the other midfielders of the national team, which unfortunately for you guys, nearly all of them play at Barca.

That Spanish midfield is just choc a bloc with talent now though. Its not just the Barca players, but Mata, Silva, Corzola etc. He's going to have to have a good year to get in the squad and an exceptional year to get near the team.

Anyone else think he'd be a good signing? He's not getting talked about much on here but I think he could make a contribution despite our midfield being so strong. Allegedly he has a release clause, but City will probably outbid us anyway.

Have to agree with that - they have an abundance of talent & if he's not playin regularly in the Barca team - he wont make the WC squad just based on his U-21 performances, but u never know..
