These players always were and always will be bottle jobs

We need a manager who is willing to take it upon himself and force some of these players out. Every year I hear of a summer clearout, and every year about 2 people go out on loan.

De Gea, Maguire, Bailly, Jones, Telles, Martial, McTominay, Fred, Williams, Tuanzebe etc etc etc. Players that should have been moved all years ago but for some reason have been working voodoo magic on every manager that comes in.

People say we have a thin squad. No we haven't. In fact our squad is heavily bloated with crap. Shake all their hands and feck them off into the sunset. Ridiculous that we are still thinking of Phil Jones as a Man Utd player.

A lot of these performance could and would have been different had we put chances away. The last few weeks has seen us waste chances that are just unthinkable. Had we put these away, confidence improves performances. The more chances we miss the greater our chances of loosing the games as heads drop - you can literally see it happening on tv. We score goals and performances from Lindlof, Casemiro, Shaw etc improve. DDG and Martial are the exception I feel as they are just constantly poor and time to move on.

Any manager that come in will be papering over the absolute mess behind the scenes.
What is apparent is that we have absolutely no leaders on the pitch. Marcus spends half the game on the floor, Antony is like the tasmanian devil up and down and side to side and Casemiro just doesn't look interested one bit.
Pressure game v Wolves when it should have been a celebration of cementing 3rd spot, instead we'll be looking over our shoulders.

I find it bizarre that people are defending this squad. Yeah EtH has had a positive effect on Shaw which is great, and Rashford looked good during his purple patch but he's gone back to just running directly into defenders and hoping that somehow pays off. Fred, McTom, Martial, DDG, Maguire are not good enough by a long way. Rashford, Sancho and AwB are ok at times but regularly offer nothing in terms of going forward or making chances. Shaw is generally good these days but does still have his off days and could still be improved on. This was not a squad of top class players by any stretch of the imagination.

Ten Hag has shown that he has deficiencies as a manager, but he's definitely a step in the right direction. His signings are not all hits but they are generally still the best players in their positions. Antony is our best winger, Casemiro is our best midfielder with Erikson being our best passer and Martinez easily our best CB. Malacia (Melissa if you're Gary Neville) is a good backup which is why he was brought in and I actually might be the minority in thinking that Sabitzer is far better than Fred & McTom and just needs a consistent run in the team.

Weghorst was a huge miss of course. Can't deny that one but the manager hasn't really had help from our piss poor scouting department either.

I do worry we might do something like this when wholesale changes are needed. We need many pieces for the jigsaw, not a couple of overpriced ones.
With the current ownership still around, backing the manager with ‘his players’, this is exactly what we’ll do. Two overpriced Dutch lads in the summer. Just wait for it.

The last thing our squad needs is a lift. Most helpful thing we can do is get on their backs.

Collectively and individually this team continues to depress, exasperate and disgust in equal terms.

DDG - great shot stopper on his day - 15 clean sheets belies his inability to dominate, come for crosses, organise his back four - and that’s before his inability to play the sweeper role, save penalties in crunch scenarios or play out from the back. The role of the keeper has moved on - we need to too.

AWB - super one on one, terrible at passing, going forward and at times looks like he zones out of the game, costing us on more than the odd occasion.

DD - looked good for games before the World Cup - has shrunk in terms of confidence. Even at his best he looks short of being top drawer material.

Malacia - bought as a squad option - looks out of his depth when facing premier league quality attackers - will he be ‘good enough? Highly debatable

Lindelof - too slow on the ball - ok as a back up but just ok. Bullied by the likes of Kane - too slow on the half turn. Always a mistake in him

Maguire - patently not good enough and has been club captain to boot. Says it all about the alternatives.

Martinez - quality.

Varane - like the exotic cars of the 80s - beautiful when fit and on his game but spends more time in the ‘garage’ than on the ‘track’. Signed 5 years too late.

Fernandes - our only real creator but gives the ball away as often as he finds his man. Best of our players on his day but too temperamental and too prone to rash decisions. Also spends far too much time than is healthy moaning, diving and general shithousery. Always fit though.

Sancho- overpriced overrated overdue a good run of performances. Our scouting network produces him whilst city sign Alvarez. Says is all.

Antony - never seen a more one footed player who isn’t actually that good with the favoured foot. Flashes of inspiration in between a wilderness of poor decision making and lack of real quality and output. I’ve trusted ETH with his signing and waited for something to convince me that he is not destined to be yet another flop. Still waiting.

Rashford - after the goals he has scored I still can’t believe I doubt him. But his body language is rapidly returning to this time last year. Still don’t like his constantly over reacting to slight knocks and for all his pace he looks like he doesn’t want to back that up with effort. I was spoilt to have seen Tevez and Rooney I guess, but do I rely on him when the going gets tough? No.

Casimero - form and fitness have fallen off a cliff. Looks one paced after looking so good.Knackered? He shouldn’t be. Past his prime? On recent performances I would say RM have done us again…

Eriksen - I’m still waiting for the player that used to do the finishing off of moves like I saw at Spurs. Is he only going to get worse in terms of fitness and mobility.? Decent back-up - but premier league challenger/winner? No.

I was going to summarise on the others - but apart from the young ones like Garnacho and Shaw, who apart from the brain fart at Brighton, has been quality I’m not wasting words on Martial, Weghorst,Fred, McTominay, - we all know that if we could we would be rid of them already.

TenHag? I have my fingers crossed that he will find a solution to our age old problems but with the personnel at his disposal and the glazers still hamstringing the club from board level I hate to say it that the solution may well remain out of his reach. Let’s hope we can limp to fourth place and not get humiliated in the final and regroup going into next season.

I know it's frowned upon saying this here but in my opinion Bruno and Rashford have led this team for a few seasons now, we've gone as far as we can with them holding the importance they currently do.

I'm not saying they should be sold but we shouldn't be against signing better players or young players with more potential in their positions.

Sure the likes of DDG, AWB Martial need to be replaced as priority but if we're still a team built on playing to the strengths of those two ultimately we won't be winning the big trophies in my opinion.

I think ETH will know that several of these players aren't up to it. But it doesn't sound like the budget is there for mass replacements, so I think he'll be forced to make do in some instances.

He needs new ownership PRONTO

For me.. we need at least 6 players with 4 of the being part of the starting 11.

GK, RB, CM, and ST as starters and backup DM and back CB (left footed preferably), that's just to get a core of 13/14 players that have the quality to perform consistently.

Yeah would also throw in backup ST too,so that's just the 7 players needed to remain competitive in the top 4. Would need nearer 10 to ever challenge again on multiple fronts
