There's nothing on earth like being a red

Pure entertainment.
Modern football can be a real chore sometimes, that was a delight.

Here's an anecdote about today:

I was so buzzing for today i wore my 06/07 home long sleeve Ronaldo shirt, scarf and new era United hat to work. I was the only one in the office come game time (game started at 3PM EST and it's easter weekend) so as is my custom i put the United game on the boardroom tv. We were up 2-0 and cruising. The owners wife decided to come in with her baby and chat my ear off. She was there when it went to 2-2. I kindly told her to leave which she did. The owner came near the end of regulation time and said "I'm ready for a drink" which i obliged him some of my Crown Royal (we're Canadian). He was there when we went down 2. I told him to leave as well. We came back.

Edit: Yes I'm the guy who admitted to doing lines at work

thats based bro, you told the bosses wife, her baby and your boss to bugger off in the space of half an hour, while watching football and drinking beer in their office.

Teach me your ways oh glorious one !!

True Story:

I was at home watching the game and we're up 2-0 jumping around like a banshee, and posting on the matchday thread like a good caftard. Then it's 2-2 and a "bad feeling" overcame, like everyone else here. We do into added time but I had to deal with urgent bank problem over the phone and some point I looked at the TV and we're down 2-4. Eff this, so I was all in on dealing with the bank problem (which I solved!) and when the wife came downstairs she congratulated me on the fantastic win. I didn't believe her. She even showed me her iphone which proved it and I still didn't believe her or her iphone. I had to see it to believe it. I believe it.

I believe in United, despite the shitty season we've had and the cretinous owners which have stolen a decade from every one of us. We may not may lift a trophy this season, but this is the greatest football club on the planet and its club supporters are the best in the world.

Agreed!

...and that's why our stadium is called 'The Theatre Of Dreams'

Magical, absolutely magical!
And Ratcliffe wants to rip it down. Old Trafford was bouncing last night,

We are the only team in history to score two injury time goals during extra time.

They showed Fergie smiling at the end of the broadcast. To him, it was almost a normal ending to the game.

Fergie time. Football, bloody hell. Theatre of Dreams. Forever.

Maybe a good time to remind people that it’s not perfection or well-‘oiled’ Pep-fection that brings joy. It’s flawed, fecked up, always injured, too young/too old shipwrecks. It’s getting there in spite of everything. Even if we win the league or European Cup or whatever in the future, it will never feel like that. These are the moments to treasure, to savour. Thanks Amorim. Thanks guys.

Well said. It's not possible to top the feeling when the goal went in yesterday. You could match it sure but you couldn't beat it. Not even if it was for another treble.

Beautiful post. You've summed it up better than anyone.

Fergie said it in the '99 doc. He's a risk taker. That's his personality.

And it feeds right through the club.

I love it. I think today's managers want the opposite of that but thankfully that side of the club keeps coming through when needed.

I dont get to many games but was there tonight. That will live with me forever. What a fecking game, what a club.
Likewise for me. It was only the 2nd time I went to Old Trafford the first one was Everton this season (4 Nil) and then yesterday. In the last 5 mins once Bruno scored the penalty, the atmosphere was so electric, it felt like the roof would come down. Definitely the best memory it would be very hard to top that probably the 99 Champions league final is the only one.

Its moments like these that are one of the reasons we're the world's most supported football team.

Lads, I've got the game on again. Ready to go through it all over again. What a game.

you grow up. Life gets serious. But that love you have for a rare object like a football club roots you to that child you used to be.

Man Utd is my escape from all the shit the world throws at you.

kept bursting into laughter randomly at work everytime it popped into my head - what the hell did i watch last night. It felt like the days after 99 or john terry missing the penalty. You couldnt script drama like it.

And the best thing, sharing it with my 8 year old lad. He will know as he grows up and life may lose a bit of that lusture - he will have his family and his club as the two constants.
