Television The X Factor 2011

Anybody catch Kelly Rowland telling the scouser "maybe next year"?

Gary Barlow is a good judge. So is Kelly Rowlands.

The Irish girl from last week was actually a mix of very good and really bad. Her voice had its moments but it also sounded very weak at times. I can't see why they were so orgasmic over her tbh.

I did like the camp bloke this week, who sang Etta James.

I didn't think the scouser was that good. He reminded me of the guy from last year - or was it Britains Got Talent? Big guy who lived in a caravan. Just didn't get him either.

That time of the week again, only watch this crap because I wouldnt mind shagging the arse off tulisa, the first guy sucked

fecking hell that kid who just sang micheal Jackson whose lovin you is awesome!!!

Tulisa's face is actually perfect.

Sparky, you deserve to be shot with balls of your own shite for spending your Saturday nights watching this bollocks.

Luke Lucas  He was really good. Funny when he was saying hi to Tulisa and aiming the audition at her.

Also, I wasn't that impressed by the girl at the end who sang Adele and everyone went wild. I think that people were caught up in the story and the song rather than the girl who was singing it. Had she sang something else I doubt she'd would have had the same effect. Louis crying at that was piss funny.

Just decided to see him out of curiosity (honestly.. err, curiosity is all it is :nervous:)

He was good, but Shaheen off BGT was miles better, and he was like 12 singing the same song.

Starts at 1:55

I thought she was pretty good really, it's an incredibly difficult song to sing.

But maybe I'm bias, despite the stick Adele gets, it's a brilliant song, full of emotion.

Yeah I love the song. I'm probably being too critical by comparing it to Adele singing it which is obviously a standard that not many could possibly reach.

She wasn't that good, and she's going to seriously disappoint on other songs. Her voice isn't standout.

Is that Ashford Campbell, Frazier's brother or cousin? He definately has similarities, and their both from Huddersfield...

We'll have to wait and see, but I think you'll be mistaken! The standard seems pretty high this year, tbh.

I could be wrong, but I don't see anything special about her at all. Her voice isn't that good, and it's not unique. I actually think the standard is lower this year, some decent singers but no full packages. The black guy who liked Kelly (how do people prefer Tulisa to Kelly?!) has potential.

I'll continue to watch it if I'm not at anything else, but X-Factor is pretty poor this year.

Also, I don't get why people sing MJ songs. They're never going to compare favourably to him. Shaheen was good on BGT, and better than the recent lad on X factor, but both of them pale horribly in comparison to MJ himself singing it at 11 years old.

So an ambitious young singer cannot do a cover of an iconic Michael Jackson just because they probably won't be as good as the King of Pop himself?

:wenger:

Nah, I think it's a poor choice as they're never going to come close to the original, and MJ songs usually aren't easy to cover. I just think they could do themselves more justice by singing something with less expectation. It wasn't a damning indictment of young talent, don't get your knickers in a twist.

I do think an MJ song to cover is a bad choice but because of how ubiquitous it has become in these talent shows.

If they can do a pretty good job of singing like Michael Jackson - or anyone else - then the talent is there, and anyone who takes them on will advise/guide them re developing their own style.

I agree about that Scottish girl, singing a song nowhere near as good as the original with fairly poor diction and little emotion is not cause to go over the top.

I am very bored of X Factor now, it seems that every other person they profile now has a sad story to tell as opposed to just showing people singing well and not singing at all.

Terence Trent D'arby did an amazing version.

It's a hard song, but only in comparison to stuff like Ain't No Sunshine and the Georgia one they all sing, which are both fairly easy for a vocalist.

Now, Sexual Healing, that's a hard song to sing, hence why you never, ever, ever, hear it on a talent show.

Heard on the radio yesterday that the Scottish girl who sang Adele had fluffed her 1st song choice and the judges gave her another chance but this was never shown on TV. Anyone hear similar?

I want tulisa to suck me off, couldn't give two shits about the singers tonight she was looking as perfect as always

To be honest Tulisa is pretty fit. But let's not forget Kelly Rowland. Banging.

No-one stands out this year. Except for being bloody awful maybe.

A few that are really good, but I picked Shayne Ward, Matt Cardle, Liam Jackson to win, and also Jai on Britains Got Talent. My radar is undisturbed this time.

Funnily enough, the one who made the most impression on me was a lad who was nervous and shown in the 'nervous' category. Scott Flannery.

Loving Gary Barlow though.

the woman from bridgend is my fathers friends, she also drinks in my local and always on the karaoke. Last night my father spoke to her, and she said that x factor phoned her pleaded her to come back on the show. Because previously she had vowed never to return.

They done this, and as you could see on the show, she was humiliated. That is why she was muttering " it isnt fair"

Then she should make that public, therefore removing the humiliation from herself and placing it on XF.
