Television The Walking Dead

The latest episodes are just so boring and seem pointless to me, especially the Gabriel one

I don't even understand why they filmed them. They weren't part of the original season. They were added because the next season would be delayed... So what?

BTW: I believe that the "Carol, Dog and Rat" show is better than TWD.

The writers are honestly just taking the piss now. I’m stubborn as feck so will see this out, but these Covid episodes are honestly the biggest pile of wank.

i live in hope that Negans backstory will give something but honestly these 6 episodes are so laughably bad, I honestly just don’t know what they’re thinking.

I just watched the Carol vs Rat episode in 7 minutes flat. Still 6 minutes too long. Is this what the previous 5 episodes have been like? So lucky I missed them.

That one was the worst of the 6 - but honestly they’re all almost as bad. They’re pure filler - I don’t know why they bothered with them,

They neither advance the plot or fill in the gaps given the time jump, they’re just steaming shite.

TBF, a lot of the show over the seasons has episodes like this except the opners, the midseason finales and the actual finales. This is a show that really needed fewer episodes per season. And to think s1 had 6 episodes whilst 10 has 22.

Nah these are just pointless filler to give the fans something. But, they have backfired. Steaming piles of dog soo. Why do we care about Carol cooking and looking for a rat? That took up too much time. It’s like they say “ok you can’t interact. You have to act with 2 animals instead”. I feel sorry for the actors and actresses.
what has Jerry been turned into? The only person working? Pathetic

Unsurprisingly, the Negan episode is by far the best of the lot.

Yes, watched that last night. He's a fascinating character, excellent actor. The show has gone to pot in general , I just need to see how they eventually wrap it up.

Finally watch the Negan episode. It was alright. Got bored pretty quickly with the first. Yeah I get it she’s sick yada yada, was hoping for it to move onto how he manage to make the Saviours. It was cool seeing old Negan talk to his new self. It was sad when he burned the baseball bat. Also what was that smirk at the end? Maggie was giving him a death stare.

it's actually incredible how empty this show has become. like, 2 characters at most per episode. there was time when even just the main group had about 15 characters. yet, I still watch it and I'll watch the next season as well as it was confirmed there will be no more after season 11. maybe it's for the best. I actually thought at one point they will somehow find the cure or the team still working to restore the order, someone like dr. Jenner from S1, but no. it's utter depression atm. no power, no food, there aren't even other communities. nothing.

So there's no pilots that surprised and no airplanes working to come from different countries?

basically, they went about 150 years in past. there aren't even cars left so they travel on horses. they aren't even using guns anymore.

maybe it's different in "Fear the Walking Dead", but I never watched it.

The 2 characters per episode in these last 6 is obviously due to COVID restrictions.

They’re filler episodes for sure. I’m not saying s11 will be better (I’ve had hope before too) but I expect them to at least advance the plot/story etc.

So I caught up cos its on D+ and to put on something whilst im doing house work. The negan one from the covid episodes were the best, but it was still meh.

S11 started, and my first thought is, it would take somebody really really stupid to be taken out by a walker. Even if there are a shit load. Because they are slow AF and pretty useless. Obviously they arent consistent with it, because it seems like they are growling all the time, except when they arent for plot?

Anyway , I think this show, whislt its been popular, has missed a huge trick. All it had to do was make the characters interesting (like Lost) and it would have been enjoyable. Even adding stories to the 'villains' or the other side would have made it enjoyable (kinda like TLOU)
But its a lot of doing shit, because of their own stupidity to begin with.

Anyway, im glad its the last season. I hope they somehow have a good ending . Its a shame they could never bring the intensity of the first episode with Rick through the rest of the show.

I watch it for the sake of Daryl. In fact this show should be called 'Daryl goes on adventure, gets captured, then kills everyone'. Rosita and Eugene lost their charm, the priest is wasted potential, Magna's group is boring and Carol picking mushrooms to cook soup (epic character development).

Maggie vs Negan plot while it's interesting going nowhere, they should just kill each other... If Rick comes back, that's great but I expect gory ending, after all it's a zombie show.

I watched every episode religiously until Rick left. That episode he left the show was the last one I watched. It would just feel like a sequel after that.

I have googled, and literally every other major character I can remember from that time is still alive. Has anything happened since? Seems I have missed absolutely nothing?

Is Rick coming back before it ends?

There is talk of a movie or limited series involving Rick's subsequent adventures.

No, we did the same bit stuck with it for another painful season. It literally dies after that episode. We actually felt pissed off, cheated almost, we’d invested so much into watching it and neither of us are natural zombie film fans but we’d really enjoyed it.

Characters have died, but its been nothing characters that seemingly were introduced, then given maybe some time before they died to try and establish them? Like there was a heads on spike scene showing people who died, and nearly every single one of them I was thinking 'who the feck is that'.

Negan is the only one that comes across as interesting, and its probably because he was a 'bad guy'.
I say bad guy cos Ricks group have surely done just as bad if not worse things than weve seen Negan and his group do. I mean, didnt Ricks group kill people in their sleep?

That one thing you mentioned destroyed the show's credibility. Also normal person would think Negan murdering Maggie's close ones in front of her should give her enough motivation to execute Negan on sight, first time she saw him sticking around the group... but now they look in some scenes like they're about to make out. WTF.

Just watched the latest episode. That's 60 minutes of my life I'm not getting back. It feels like it was a repeat which has been done about 5 times.

Y'all still watch this?
I stopped after the first season with Negan. It went to shit after that for me. I watched the other spin off for a few seasons but stopped the season after Morgan showed up. My wife still watches it.

Ffs I haven't watched it yet and I know what you mean. This is the last season and yet it seems like it's going nowhere.

I watch it because I simply have to end it now. after 10 seasons, I want to know how it will all end, where is Rick, who will survive, is there actually hope for the rest of the world etc. but I'll be honest, it's been going nowhere for so long that I'm pretty sure the ending will also be underwhelming. I'm still shocked at how empty everything feels, almost zero effort is put into dialogues and walkers scenes. remember that lonely walker on the field? or the one in the well? unthinkable today, as they simply don't bother with such details anymore. both actors and writers seem to be tired from the show and it's just too obvious.

for example, wasn't there another member of the Magna's group, that musician or something? I already forgot, is he dead or what? what's with Oceanside? not that I care much, it's just funny how they simply erase certain characters from the show.

s11 has had two really enjoyable episodes. The daryl one where he meets the reapers??
And the one where we see the cannibal type humans crawling around the house, which felt like a video game.

Finally caught up. overall s11 hasnt been bad as entertainment
The biggest issue which ive mentioned before, is how useless the walkers are. They should be a threat, but it really takes human stupidity to be killed by one of them.

Im surprised
pope died. Then again, theres only half a season left, which is about 10 eps? And im guessing the community thing will be the big villains at the end, with them finding out the location via Eugene, and that shit kid and his mother being the villains?

If s11 (and all seasons) were ten episodes, the arcs would be so much better.

Well, this is a *24* episode season, which will be broadcasted in three batches of eight.

I haven't watched it since they had to guide a huge horde away from a town. I'm amazed I lasted as long as that really.

Gave up with it after they introduced the Kingdom with the King, was it? Black guy that talked like a Shakespeare character and walked about with a ridiculous CGI lion. Just utter nonsense, really. I know it is adapted from a comic book, but it really just turned into pure comic book nonsense. Those garbage people as well that completely forgot how to form sentences properly, how? The apocalypse had only been going for 5 years?

Negan is ridiculous as well, walking about with that stupid fecking bat with a seemingly endless horde of people for Rick and his crew to gun down.

Just an all round silly programme.

The only thing that's annoying me this season is that's it's not really going anywhere. There's no big bad or moving towards something. Yeah Pope was cool, but they literally only went through him just to get some food resources . It's like they are taking there sweet ass time moving nowhere slowly. I get it, they are taking it slow. But it's the final fecking season. That train and the last episode was the only time I was remotely entertained.

I think that is also where I stop, was that season 7 or 8?

Is there any way to watch the highlights of all the latest seasons and then be done with it

So I just finished the walking dead world beyond. I didnt really like the look of it, so I didnt bother. But since it wrapped up its two seasons, I figured I would have it on in the background.

Its alright. The teen shit is eyerollingly bad. The rest is just ok. Worth having on in the background and nothing more. That is except until you get to the mid credit scene of the final episode. Which really blows the fecking doors off the whole franchise. For a franchise that is seemingly on the wind down, that just made it feel like we were only now getting to know what has been going on this whole time. As this mid credit scene takes us all the way back to season 1 of the walking dead. Of course, youll have to have a cracker jack memory to link the two. Or be like me and read something on Reddit :D

Is it setting up the Rick Grimes movies? Maybe. But this show takes place long after Rick Grimes is taken away on a helicopter. And spoilers(but not really), Rick kinda comes up in the second season.

All in all its an average show, but that ending is Marvel credits worthy for wetting the appetite for more.
