Turnover not takeover
There's always one miserable SOB isn't thereSo this is what it's come to? A thread where we lie to ourselves for our own mental security. Wow, this might be more depressing than the rest of the threads.

Maybe but this is the upbeat threadI'm just one soldier in Amorim's depressed red army.
We have seen that the 5-3-2 part (as defined by the more defensive set-up) is actually pretty effective and difficult to break down - see City (A), Liverpool (A), Arsenal (A).Although I hate 3-4-3, or 5-3-2 with so many defenders on the pitch, I like Amorim and I'm hopeful he'll turn it around. We're getting rid of the overpaid dross, slowly but surely. There's a good chance we won't get relegated. The squad is young and one would think they're bound to improve at some point.
If we ignore the awful LVG-like football and the humiliating home defeats to whoever turns up at OT, we can chose be hopeful. What else is there to do?
Those 2 are not mutually exclusive, we havn't been very good at breaking down low-blocks no matter what formation we've used in the last decadeWe have seen that the 5-3-2 part (as defined by the more defensive set-up) is actually pretty effective and difficult to break down - see City (A), Liverpool (A), Arsenal (A).
We know that the problem is breaking down low-blocks and controlling games with the '3-4-3'...but, as I always, always bang on about...coaching a defensive setup is much, much easier than coaching an attacking setup...so it's bound to take time, especially with so many young / inexperienced players
Sneaky!I used to find it depressing that the goalkeeper not an outfield player kept winning our player of the season award but that’s been solved by Onana

That is arguably Amorims first 11 for the rest of the season.
Look at how young that team is, nothing can replace the development and experience that comes with age. Just time alone will see them become more consistent. You cannot skip the growing pains of kids, and this is a team being assembled for future years. Likely to add Quenda at RWB too who is only 17. Madness.

niceRuben Amorim's depressed red army,

Bring your vodka and Bacardi,
We guarantee a relegation party.
We didn't give Ruud the job when we would have done pre-Ineos. And we finally chucked Rashford out. Those are the only positives from this season.

If anything the age of the players we are picking up is fantastic. Secondly we seem to know who we want and in general we are getting them.We have Amad. We are targeting top tier youth prospects and young players as our main targets (good). We have some exciting youth players coming through the academy now. Amorim is far more astute in how he analyzes issues and tweaks the team (yes I know the results don’t show it).
Oh, and we seem better at negotiating under the new regime.
Agreed, I see things moving in the right direction. Thanks for this thread OP.
I for one am glad of the new structure of the club, and will give those in charge and Amorim a lot of time. We have to try, the prior set up was obviously very broken. It won't happen quickly.
Their job is not to do what fans want, but to do what's right.Hard for people to see when it's only been 8 months but the reality is INEOS done the ugly parts and made the hard calls. Fans can't see it because it's not reflected on the field or with signings yet.
- Deadwood is being cleared
- Signing high potential players globally
- Clearing wage bill of high earners who don't put the effort in
- Having a proper footballing structure
- Building with a clear identity.
