I've been to quite a few baseball games when in the US and its quite a bit of fun to watch live. Always stuff going on that you don't see on TV. Tons of fan participation. I get bored very quickly watching it on TV
What has struck me whenever I've gone though is how little of the game many of the fans actually watch. Its more of a social occasion. Tickets are cheap because they play so often, and for the first 7 innings or so I've seen sections of seating perhaps only 20% populated, whereas the outer parts of the stadium are packed with groups of people drinking, eating and just hanging out.
