The Three Body Problem: Rashford, Antony and Sancho

They all have one thing in common.

Erratic Rashford is a planet caught in a turbulent orbit, Antony's low output is a black hole failing to stabilise, and gas giant Sancho is simply spiraling out of control.

I can’t see Rashford being sold and suspect we won’t be able to shift Tony. So it’s really Sancho (which will free up massive wages) only I think.

If we were playing keep, sell, bench then depressing as it might be, I'd have to keep Antony. Sancho has a terrible attitude so he could go on the bench permanently. Rashford has regressed so badly that he's not as good as Antony, doesn't work nearly as hard as has the bad attitude too, so he'd be first out of the door this summer for me.

Considering that Ashworth and Berrada haven't yet joined + we've yet to decide on ETH then I'd implement a wait and see situation. Let's see who comes with an offer, what the offer will be and if its worth accepting. I wouldn't exclude selling them just as I wouldn't exclude keeping them. Else all we'll get is peanuts. What's sure is that a loan move with no obligation to buy attached to it shouldn't even be entertained. We shouldn't be strengthening the opposition.

Sancho's performances at Dortmund have been hyped up again - he's been steady, and had one great CL game, but quiet overall with meh numbers. Definitely not worth either the wages or the discipline-based headache, ETH or otherwise. If we get Tuchel, maybe he can try and retrieve some value from this transfer, but I would not complain at all if we sold him. Quality with no desire or effort.

Antony is just a limited footballer. Lots of effort, shows desire, but no quality at all. Definitely sell, to whoever will buy without us subsidizing his wages. He simply cannot be given any more minutes at this club if we want to win games.

Rashford is the tricky one. There are patches when we've seen quality, desire, and effort from him, he's single handedly won us big games playing on the counter. On the other hand, he's just had the worst season of his life where he just didn't look like he was interested in this profession at all. He was the one that needed a break from the game to sort out his mentals, not Sancho. If he doesn't improve, we'd rather wish he was sold when the stock was high. But I have always had a soft spot, so would be open to the new manager (or EtH again, if he's not sacked) try to work with Rashford and get him to start enjoying his football again.

Sack Sancho. Sell Antony. Last chance saloon for Rashford.
Spot on. I'd go along with that 100%!

I’d sell all three if possible. But we know that Rashford will fine a way to stay so we have to sell the other two.

Got a problem with that?

They're as bad as each other.

You think Mitoma is an upgrade on Rashford, so it's safe to say that your opinion about him should be immediately rejected...but tbh you've said something even worse this time when you said Antony is on the same level as well.

I have a massive issue with it.

It's an awful comparison. One has often been one of our few shining lights post Fergie and has 130 goals as an academy graduate. Scoring in key games against Barca, PSG, city, Liverpool and Arsenal alongside goals in a final in 2023 and Europa semi final in 2017. Granted, he's not perfect but...

The other two cost £170 million between them and have scored less than 20 goals and have hardly given us two seasons of anything.

It's ridiculous.

They’ll all be too difficult to sell, given their wages. We will likely have to let them run down their contracts and go away on a free transfer, unless they’re willing to play for reduced wages. But if there’s a buyer for any of them, gnaw their arm off before they change their mind.

Antony and Sancho, when they have started a match have very very rarely improved the team....neither, this season, has Rashford, (although a tremendous goal against City, and a superb pass to Garnacho in the Final). Perhaps Rashford is missing his mate at Dortmund, why on earth put it on social media his support for Sancho, I would find that provocative, surely a private phone call would suffice. But perhaps I'm being naive and he wants every man and his mate that he is pro Sancho. Maybe the time has come for the three of these "professionals" to leave. But what a quandary that will create...who would want them (let alone BUY and PAY their grotesque salaries), I would imagine the list to be a wee bit on the tiny side.

Rashford I assume, the player who strolls around the pitch looking totally disinterested is a shining light? **** me that's some reach.

No problem, get rid of all 3, along with Van De Beek, Shaw and Eriksen. Martial and Varane are virtually out the door, so losing these 8 will be a big plus.

We could do a buy two get one free sale. £100 mill and save about 900k a week wages
