The Second RedCafe Sheep Draft

The pool is immense for this round.

You can, in fact, safely go for a GOAT gamble on your first turn, have him blocked, then go for a gamble on another GOAT or GOAT light, have him blocked - and still pick up a brilliant player on the third go. Unless you do something positively stupid, you'd be a bit unlucky, really, to end up with a sheep here.
On phone, but copying the blocked players list would answer this... Haan and Zebec sticking out like sore thumbs there.

This is seriously a yawn worthy round!

How much time does it take to choose from a shortlist of 30 odd names? Not more than 30 mins research covering all 3 picks put together! :boring:
It doesn't work like that though. Now teams have a few players so you can go through the list and make a heat map if sorts in terms of interest players may attract. A bit all over the place now, but obviously need to start doing it.

Or you can just pick three guys and wait for your sheep. That seems to be working well for you, and me as it keeps me entertained doing my own research.

Wingers, right?

Yeah but that's just incredibly simplifying it. I mean you can go for a really safe GOAT in the third round only to have it blocked because you were unlucky and someone else went for the same "safe" GOAT

Erm...alright.

Whatever you say, man. Personally I would say that if you go for a GOAT as your THIRD pick, you're a bit special. But there you go.

My point was - or so I thought - quite plain: There are literally dozens of very good players available. Which means that you should be able to pick up one of these players easily enough given that you have three attempts. If someone else goes for the same very good player on their final attempt, you're shit out of luck - but the likelihood of this happening isn't enormous given the size of the pool.

Obviously yes, but it's a bit early now. And that doesn't affect the 2nd pick at all.

Say you have a shortlist of 5 picks in order. Go for one, if blocked go for 2nd. If still blocked then you need to be careful for 3rd pick. Still it's just a choice out of a very short list. And that analysis would be better done before 1st pick imo.

Aye, and by then you have an idea who have been blocked - and how many were successful in round one (not least). Add this to the following fact: There are many excellent players available here who in all likelihood were not first choice picks. And the sum total is a very forgiving round. A round, in fact, in which it should be very possible to avoid a sheep and bag a very good player. Which was my point above.

No, because you have 5 managers who passed and based on what they have and their style you can cross a few as "likely already picked".

I actually wouldn't mind a round where we get to go for blocked players. Would be fun

I've never seen Zebec play but he sounds like a great player from the stuff I've read.

well, even if I succeed this round (which I doubt) I have 50% sheep. Not bad a probability to look forward to a drop player round!
Sheep are very loyal, they usually stay with their shephard. It's the goats that have a tendency to run away, mate.

You're making it easier for the other managers by reacting like that :)

Sent in my block. Almost certainly know who NM is going for this round, and I reckon he'll get him too.

Stobz already gave it away, so I might as well rejoice.

EDIT: Plus, C. Ronaldo is blocked in this draft! I've found him to be quite boring in these drafts.

I'd fancy a PM as I have no clue who you are talking about.

Maybe he's playing mind games. After all he could have gone for a decent pick and doesn't want others to go for a GOAT who might have slipped through unpicked, in the second stage. :wenger:
