Never thought that would happen because was still some huge holes at DM, RB, CM & RW

RW was problem solved, allegedly when we bought Sancho, he was brought to play as a RW with Rashford as a LW.
RB was never an issue at the start of the season, AWB was looking decent and the logical outcome was for him to improve.
DM/CM - yes, the problem wasn't addressed and we have kept our old mediocre players
 
It is absolutely pointless playing any of the players that are leaving this summer, makes no sense as they are just going to stroll around and certainly not put their foot in.

we shouldn’t see Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Cavani again as they are only looking after themselves.

We need to blood some of the talented youth that we have, been a bit disappointed in RR that he hasn’t pushed that more, can’t be any worse that the abject displays from those above.
 
To be fair, the season is not over. We are just 3 points off the 4th place.

Just that we are not helping ourselves by dropping points left and right.

Which is why we need to play some hungry keen players that actually have a future to fight for rather than the finger pointing lazy sods that are currently getting rolled over game after game…..

I watched the Palace match last night and if we could have just a fraction of their desire from that first half we would be challenging for third not 7th….it’s criminal what has gone on.

I really hope that Ralf has made a good dossier on which dross needs removing.

It would be the biggest shock for some time if we could snatch 4th - Arsenal looked shite last night but Spurs looked good Sunday. Plenty of points to be dropped by everyone between now and the end of the season……unfortunately I feel we will the most though
 
I actually hope we get in the Europa league, it’s a good chance for the younger/fringe players and winning it shouldn’t be sneered at. If Barca win it this year it will be seen as a good sign of progress. It’s not a trophy i would particularly celebrate but it removes the label of not having won anything in 5 years and breeds a winning culture - gives players an experience of winning and creates the hunger for more.
 
It should go without saying that what you do in this scenario is to fight with all you've got to get 4th. Win or draw ugly if you have to, but grind as feck for those points (because it's the only thing left fighting for).

Playing kids just for breaking 'em in? Feck that, of course not.

The season isn't "dead". There's 4th to play for - and whether people like it or not, that "4th place trophy" actually means something.

Being in the CL next season is a huge positive no matter who the next manager is.

I see some people even advocating dropping below the EL level, to make it easier to focus on the league next season.

No - that isn't how it works.

We're obviously shit, we all know that. But the competition isn't overly impressive either. We should keep fighting for every point until 4th is mathematically impossible. Then and only then you can play kids for the sake of it, etc.
