And THE FLYING POTATO !!!!!!

Good stuff man. You and the lads keep up the good work.

I played a gig last night. It was really bizarre. It was an open mic setting so obviously you have the possibility of every whack job and the tin-foil hat poetry brigade out to tell the world her destiny.

This guy got up, and I've learnt since watching him that he's a regular. You know when people refer to a comedian as "insane" but it's to suggest that he's extremely funny in an over the top way ? Well this guy wasn't that type of insane. He was the genuine, real, 100% authentic type of insane.

It turns out he was shot in 1 eye during an attempted murder but survived with just the use of one eye. Clearly he just about survived because he's as mad as a brush and nobody understands the point of his 15 minute sketch.

I was up after him and the silly bollox was perched to the side of the stage heckling at me - blowing horns and making noises a clown would make with feckin bells and whistles. A little distracting I'll admit but I took solace in the fact that people knew he's off his head.

I was pretty pleased with the 3 songs but I was a bit stressed going onstage for personal reasons and so I think a sort of breathlessness crept through.

As a matter of interest, who reckons it would be a good idea for there to be a sticky thread in the entertainment forum advertising up-coming gigs for unknown original acts. So say any of the Caf musicians have a gig coming up they can use the thread to advertise it in - in a similar fashion to how the math day thread works - times, dates, location etc. The thread can then be used to discuss the gigs attended and it's also a great way for networking in music.

Or.....a Caf member might be going to a mate's gig and feels it's a worthwhile night to support an unknown act.

I think it's a decent idea. The more of this that goes on the bigger the underground underground scene gets

Here's some other picks from BandwagonTV's visit to Wexford recently...

I love these tunes.

Ians on Othervoices on RTE tonight.

There really is an amazing amount of talent around Wexford at the moment, its great coz we're pretty much all mates and play with each other, so people can slot in here there and everywhere.

Epic arrangements on all those tunes mate. Especially liked the first one, but all were really nice.

Yeah thats a quality tune, had to be, inspired by our sunday sessions form the summer. Thats our session crowd.

Thats the mate I've been telling you about for a while... The Man Whom.. his ablum is out in April, released his first single yesterday, Call all the People, its up on itunes.

He's a sickeningly talented fecker!

Popps I suggest you get off your high horse and get over to London for a gig. I'll arrange it all.

High horse aint the problem mate, time is.... I've to get a bit of recording done next, thats the priority.

Here's my best mate doing his version of Steve Earles Dixieland.

He recorded the vid for a documentary for the wall street journal.

I'm into the studio this Saturday which should see the finishing of one of my tunes that will appear on my debut studio E.P. Reckon it'll sound really good

3 songs from an opener I did at The Rhythm Factory the end of March. I'm now moving into getting a full band behind me but thought it'd be nice to get the chance to play. Both Bumblebee and In Love Again are on my up-coming E.P

Has to be said, Kinks, you've a great ear for a melody. Really catchy tunes.

If that dreadful dirge went massive on the back of Today Fm playing a tune off youtube, I'd like to think the same could happen to you. Even if you are sweating like a paedophile in a Barney suit.

Thank you Pogue. I genuinely appreciate that - the sweat is because of my fatness

Don't get me started on Jamie Lawson, I've met him a few times, nice guy but talk about luck.

He's seriously on the pigs back now, in a big way.

Just heard 'In Love Again'

What a fecking tune Kinky. Really catchy.

Cheers lads. Much appreciated. EP is almost done. I've had some interesting feedback which fully supports just how diverse and incredible music is. Some think the studio sound takes away from what is normally a raw and honest performance. Then others prefer the studio versions of my songs.

Mind you I've only been showing second round guide tracks so the end product is going to be considerably different. It's just interesting to see what floats one person's boat will mean little or nothing to the next

Music is weird

When I play it live with just myself and the acoustic is has a very soulful vibe. The studio version of the song is more country.

I feel both have their own merits and it's fun to play a song various ways depending on the mood

Getting quite a bit of good press recently, put on a lot of pod casts, some radio stations, playing gigs as well. Got friend to put drums on one of the tracks we recorded too. You can listen here. Locust Pt. I by It Girl on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

planning on getting a bunch of drummers to lay beats on our other tracks and potentially get a full time drummer if one comes a long that ticks the boxes. Should be back in the studio after a busy month of gigs every week. Really want to get our EP 6/7 songs maybe with all different drummers, who knows. We're going good though. Just an update for kinks and the likes. Cheers
