Would've been nice to get a win but a decent season. Hopefully we'll come back stronger next season (or those feckers drop off drastically)

Do you have a list of all the finals there has been @nimic how many times did I face Wiz/Durant?

You're 3-0 against him. The last one was the MVP version of him.

That's it for Miami! The reigning champions proved a bridge too far. It shouldn't be taken as failure, though, and it's another positive step for SebJr and his team. A few seasons ago they would have been happy just being in the general vicinity of the playoffs.

The Spurs take it! It was quite close, but in the end the pure star power of the Fearsome Foursome was too much. The Rockets Duo has a bright future ahead, though. They seem to complement each other quite well, having very different skills both offensively and defensively.

It'll be the clear best player in the world against three young men and a pensioner in the final. There could be a dynasty here for Spurs, but first they have to end the Durant dynasty.

You know the drill ^

Final baby! Lets see if we can give gramps (as we call him) a ring. Just need to beat KD

Minnesota leaps out as another mini-dynasty along with Seattle and Wizards.

Michael Finley must have been high in the goat list

Quite impressive from Wizards being great since 2008

I bet the media have a lot of great stories with alto meeting Wizards and Durant again

Id say Minnesota, Wizards, Seattle and Lakers are the dynasties that has been. Some bigger than others

Smashed it.

Kevin Durant is ~19k behind, which means he has to almost double his current total to pass you. If he's great until 38 he might do it, otherwise it'll be hard.

Nice. Sounds like I’m playing next season too.

It's time! This is the moment where we see if the wonderfully (luckily) constructed San Antonio Spurs, with the young and diverse trio of Nobbers, Sonius and Heine, plus the aging defensive giant altodevil, are ready to take on the reigning champions Washington Wizards - led by the best player in the world in Kevin Durant.

Game 1 goes to the Spurs! A great game by Durant is not enough to stop a fantastic game by Nobbers and the rest.

i09dMQA.png

2-0! Is this going to be easy? So far Kevin Durant can't do it on his own!

2mVolg3.png

The champions strike back! It's a narrow win, what a game by Durant.

5hFGo0F.png

It's all even! Kevin Durant merely had a very good game this time, but nobody on the Spurs had anything even approaching a good game.

trVVlxv.png

Are we getting the reverse sweep? This time Nobbers and Sonius both had good games, and it still wasn't enough.

utyQJGT.png

3-3! Nobbers with 36 points, though it took all of 28 shots to get it. But it also took Durant 23 shots to get to 27 points, so it worked out this time. We're going to Game 7!

UUawBJ5.png

It's done! We've got three new champions, plus one six-time champion. This time both Durant and Beal had good games, but every Spurs starter had at least a decent game, with efficient shooting and the counting stats spread out between everyone.

Congratulations to Nobbers, Heine, altodevil and Sonius! We might be seeing the beginnings of a dynasty here. And they might not even be done building, as they own the picks of both the Lakers (2nd worst record) and Pelicans (3rd worst record). The draft lottery will decide what that means in actual picks, but can you imagine if they pick up Ben Simmons, Jamal Murray or even BenitwoSTARRLET(:nervous:)?

My beard should be white now. The young lads deserve the plaudits. I just got them to play at their best. I told them the secret.

Awards

Some of the early season predictions didn't quite hold up (non-Durant MVP, Cafite 6MOY and MIP), but this is still a fine haul for the Caf.

Draft Lottery

At least we avoided the possibility of San Antonio getting another set of great picks. 3rd and 5th are good picks, but this isn't the strongest draft ever (depending on if @Samid and @Skizzo put their kids in the draft, in which case it probably is quite strong after all). Quite unlucky by Oklahoma City to get the 4th pick, though to be fair it was the single most likely result.

League news

Skizzo and Samid have decided to retire! Skizzo never really reached the heights he could have hoped for, but he still had a fair career. Samid too, though he'll be disappointed never to win that 3 Point Contest he got so close to. He might be mollified by his induction into the Hall of Fame.
