Big loss...will be missed.
Free Fire
An arms deal between two gangs goes haywire, leading to an epic shoot out. Seems like it was inspired by the work of Tarantino, this was an enjoyable flick that was hilarious in places and just a fun ride. Liked most of the characters, there was some laugh out loud dialogue and Armie Hammer and Sharlto Copley stole the show. I now forgive Ben Wheatley for making Field in England and High Rise. My only issue with the film was lack of wide or establishing shots, which made it hard to understand where each character was in the scene but that's a nit pick and I would highly recommend this 8/10

Yep, thought it was brilliant. I love films that occur all in one space and rely solely on good story telling and acting chops. Simplicity!
Seen the trailer for that prior to the screening of Dunkirk and my immediate reaction was WTF.The Emoji Movie
I mean you can read my review if you want: http://filmindublin.ie/the-emoji-movie-why/, but nobody made me go to this screening. Nobody forced me. Of course it was going to be rubbish. So I'm here to review myself.
0/10, make better choices
watched Pulp Fiction again the other day for the first time in ages.
Its aged very very badly and the acting is alot worse than when I first watched it. Amazing how movies back then seemed so amazing, yet technology and standards improve and in the modern day, they look so dated.
Whaaaaaaaat?! Watched it maybe 4 months ago, still loved it!watched Pulp Fiction again the other day for the first time in ages.

I have this impression that 90% of new blockbuster-esque movies are just shit. King Arthur was shit, Independence Day was shit, Point Break was shit, Kong Island was underwhelming etc. That Blade Runner 2049 trailer is completely underwhelming...predictably.

I've been pretty hyped for this movie(Mainly due to being a fan of Oneohtrix Point Never)so its good to know that it's not god awful. Hoping to see it soon although I can't seem to find a UK release date.Good Time - excellent, grimy heist film with a terrific against type performance from Robert Pattinson. Tight, tense and funny with a great score from Oneohtrix Point Never. I'm going to check out more from the Safdie brothers.

Nice, I've been looking forward to seeing it ever since it was announced.Call Me By Your Name - it's been a good couple of weeks for me. I thought Dunkirk was best of the year so far but might already have been topped. Guadagnino's films feel so tangible, and so alive, and this is his most lived in. Timothee Chamolet is extraordinary in the lead and Armie Hammer is up to it as well. Guadagnino was present to do a Q and A but was mostly bombarded with five minute non-questions. He seemed cool though. Chamolet better get an Oscar nod or there is no justice.
@R.N7 I think you'll get behind this one.

There's a bit of jerking, that's for sure. I don't care if they're all white.Ugh. hated this. Typical all white cast circle jerk film.

I am curious. Having not seen the movie, how does having all white cast impact the movie?
Just watched Usual Suspects for the first time, have to say my head is blagged but I get most of it besides a few things:
Anyway it was a good film. Slightly flawed but still a classic. 7.5/101. After all that, after Keyser Soze duped those lot into taking out the Hungarian ship and further ruining their organisation for raping and (partly) killing his family, who the feck is the guy who survived? Burnt to feck but is sat in a bed telling his story? How didn't he die?
2. Why's it so incredibly important to Soze (Verbal) to remain anonymous? Why can't one Hungarian fella know what he looks like? I assume it's the guy he let go in the flashback, so why did he if it's so important to remain anonymous? Did he have to set up what would be months of planning in order to deceive the thieves to take out the boat? Couldn't he just have his 'guys' do it?
3. A bit less blaggy and probably more of a pointless addition but why did he use the board behind him to make shit up? At any moment the detective could've turned round to have a think and seen 'Radford' 'Guatemala' etc. It was a nice touch, and an iconic film moment I suppose but it was bloody daft for such a smart guy.
