I've been playing Disco Elysium and its hilarious. Writing is great. It feels like a modern day monkey island or day of the tentacle. Loving it

This will be my next buy. Supposed to be brilliant.

Anyone got tribes of midgard? I decided to give it a go as only 15.99 and I like the idea of a 10 player Co op survival game.

Launched at midnight but not played it yet though

I got it and couldn’t get into it. Not sure why because it looked great and usually right up my alley. I’ll give it another go at some point.

Day of the tentacle and monkey island, two of my old time faves, you’re giving your age away there :)

Trophies is another part of modern gaming that holds no interest for me. It's always been something I just up and go "oh you get a trophy for that" and move on. Never understood the fuss about it since it usually involves doing a lot of meaningless shit that comes across as a waste of time.

On another note due to the lack of PS plus games I gave an older PS plus title a go - Vampyr - and I've been pleasantly surprised by it. It's hooked me much more than the game I actually purchased (outer wilds). Good setting, enjoyable enough gameplay, and a very interesting social system/trade off system.

Yeah, I did some research on gamification during my master's and learned there's no strong pattern about whether people care or not.

Some (Damo) reported being highly motivated by extrinsic rewards like achievements and XP, most commonly citing the structure it offers as a draw.

Others prefer the intrinsic challenge of beating a game with no interest in associated rewards. If I were to follow-up (I won't, RIP academia) I'd probe on why they feel this way because my hunch is that they see it as an unnecessary addition that veers too much away from the core experience.

I'm more the latter and enjoy going after trophies that are fun to get but ignore the others. If I get over 50% of trophies in a game I'm a happy bunny.

Never has for me either. It's just recently, I've found something in playing some of my old favourite games and rinsing them for the trophies. Can't explain it. In some way it's like saying a last goodbye to some of my old favourite games that after this, I'll probably never play again. At the minute, the new games market is empty so I've been digging up the old classics and really enjoying them.

It is very addictive I am ashamed to admit my platinum count (It is a lot)

Trying to get the platinum on the uncharted series. How many times do you have to play through? 4 by the look of it. Hmm, wind has been taken out of my sails almost straight away.
With the difficulty trophies you can just play on the highest difficulty and it unlocks them all. I did the one playthrough of Drake's Fortune Remastered on Crushing then just used chapter select to get the collectibles I missed. Easy peasy.

You definitely don't have to go through the whole game four times. I don't play games which require loads of playthroughs so if I've managed to platinum it, you'll be fine.

Holy sh*t! Amazing. I only have the hard and crushing to do. Done everything else. The 50 stealth kills and Brutal combo ones were tough.

Cheers!

ps. Who changed my tag line btw

I'm close to plat on Cyberpunk, now there's a chore I'll tell you!
Is it really that bad? I ended up with 50% after my first playthrough and thought I'd go in and clean up on my second playthrough, once the game is fixed. It looked like basically a case of clearing the map.

It's the multiple endings you need to do in order to get all the trophies. I didn't think I'd go for plat when I started so I missed a few. I'm enjoying it and the problems with the game aren't really a big issue tbh. They make me smile more than make me angry.

Ahh okay fair enough. Yeh honestly I know I’m in the minority but I really like the game. Easily one of the best I’ve played in recent years even despite the issues. I’m just forcing myself to put it away for a year or two for the next gen update, free DLCs and patches because I think it could be amazing after all that.

Don't trophies back unlock if you do the hardest difficulty then the lower difficulties unlock also.

I always thought that's how they worked.

I’m kinda screwed now that I’ve no games left to play. I’ve replayed MGS 5, GoW, GoT, FF7 Remake, FF7 original, RDR2, Mass Effect Trilogy (Platinumed all 3), RE: Villiage, Jedi Fallen Order, Uncharted 4 and Witcher 3. New games were Empire of Sin and Gears Tactics. Currently downloading Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I’ve played it before but haven’t since released. I Really need a new big Multiplayer game like Destiny 3 or something.

Is that the one where you start in London set in the past, or the slightly older one where you stealth around? I always get anything that isn't Vampire the Masquerades confused.

The only thing I really remember is being disappointed in both for different reasons.
It's the one in Spanish flu era London. What is the one where you stealth around? Vampyr is pretty much the only vampire game outside of the two Masquerade games I know of. I had decent hopes for Vampyr as it was the third game by Dontnod after Remember Me and Life is Strange which I both really enjoyed. Didn't really live up to it.

Blimey, the words crushing and easy easy should not exist in the same post for uncharted!

Video Game sound effects quiz. I got 18/60. There was another 10 or so that were on the the tip of my tongue that I just couldn't place. I cannot fecking believe I didn't get 14, 32 and 42...

I got 25 but I’m giving myself 26 because it was Street Fighter II instead of just Street Fighter. I also had loads on the tip of my tongue but eventually got them. There were loads I just didn’t know though.

This is great fun! Thanks for sharing.

I'm up to 22 at present and the clanking of 54 and whizzling of 58 are driving me f*****g NUTS! *Don't want anyone to tell me by the way*

20/60, that was tough. So many games I never played, so I got pretty much all I could've got. The only real misses were 11 and 44 for me. My mind just blanked on 11, it was such a familiar sound I kept thinking too recently. And yeah, if you've played the game, 14 is one of those sounds that you'll never forget for the rest of your life.
