It's probably the best way to fit him. Think about it, one of the key difficulties in WM is the wingers have to add value going forward but, crucially, keep coming and going all game patrolling the flank. It's basically inverse attacking fullbacks, they start from an attacking position but must "provide width" in defence. Boniek and Ljungberg are actually pretty fecking spot on for it as well. Effenberg can do a more dynamic/defensively dominating Bozsik...

Problem is who the hell I get in the FWD DoF and, crucially, what the feck to do if after going in that direction the DoF defender randomiser presents me with someone like Cafú. What do I do then? Shove him up my bottom?

As much as I like Morena, having a striker there makes things so awkward.. I prefer playing one up top :( Fingers crossed for Rumenigge
 
Really wanted a defender, but will wait for the randomizer to do it's job and as I'm near top of the coming picks, should be a advantage there. So I'll go for...

If you offered me Morena now instead of whatever the randomiser throws up I'd bite your hand. But yeah, agree you don't need a strike pair with him, what you need is inside/wing forwards who support him effectivel. Good luck.

Spot on about the DoF defender round, I mentioned that to MJJ when I PMed him. It's actually going to have a huge affect on how the players will be best utilised so it makes future planning difficult - the difference between Sammer and Cafu, as you say.

There are a few defenders who I think would be perfect for the WM as well, that are still available. If MJJ did not have Di Livio there was a player I would have taken instead of Dalglish to play that role.

Ah, feck. Just realized I changed the order in OP. Always had defenders as 2nd pool, but must have changed it before posting. Duh!

No After Neeskens, I switched to a 4-3-3 or a 4-1-3-2.

I could have done with the defenders getting assigned next, I can basically do feck all until I know who I get and the more mdifielders I get the more I'm forced to go WM later. Will probably have to roll the dice on that because there's feck all chance I can get the right defenders so late in the game.

I don't really like it if I'm honest. That midfield is too far away from the forwards if it's 4-1-3-2, and if you go 4-3-3 Beckham doesn't look very comfortable, nor is Neeskens best utilised (not badly, but not best). If you are not going 4-4-2 pray it is Becks fecking off to Argentina.

Agreed. I'm stuck in a waiting room re: defenders but there was no doubt in my mind if I were to pick one not thinking of a WM Amoros was the obvious future-proof choice.
