Really gutted with that Kevin Owens news :(
I thought it's just a work? Like KO was already trying to butter Randy up a few weeks ago and then next week Randy will figure out that it's false?
So the favour all that time was Punk getting Heyman back from Roman.
I think that wasn't worth the hype. The favour should have been Brock Lesnar's phone number.
Seems to be some chatter today that Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair were going off script.

Not surprised, Charlotte could barely say a word with the level of booing.
Can I ask a noob question? Are promos generally scripted? I always thought the wrestlers were given a few key things to happen and they did the rest on the fly. But if it's all narratively scripted, then that Cena/Cody promo last week wasn't as impressive as I first thought.

Think for the talent that are able it’s more just a “here’s where we want to get to and you do the rest”, couldn’t imagine them coming up with one of Jacob Fatu’s promos for example, funnily enough Rock was apparently one of the more scripted promo guys

Seeing Charlotte so rattled and unable to even speak was glorious, just proves she shouldn't even be around anymore as getting rattled like that was a rookie thing

Nowadays, they are scripted for a lot of the roster. For the ones who are talented on the mic, they probably get more leeway.

Exactly yeah. There are definitely folks who are able to take a general aim and improvise the path to get there.

There are also others who are clearly scripted all of the time.

Then you had folks like Riddle where the two sides met disastrously/hilariously.

Yep I enjoyed it a lot.

She tried to style it out initially but was clearly extremely uncomfortable when the booing got even louder.

He’s been really bad lately. He was never the best actor but I have found him incredibly inauthentic in recent weeks. Maybe he’s just shown up by Punk who’s a very solid actor and Rollins has become decent too.
Punk is extremely believable and Rollins is not bad either.

Not hardcore with WWE, so not clear where lines blur between pantomime and reality but for a minute there I felt sorry for the human being - she looked genuinely stung by the whole thing. Either that or she's a very good actor.

Why did they look like they were wearing lace & underwear? Is that a thing?

Charlotte just ain't it, at all. Force it as much you want, but 10 years ain't gonna give you the Roman aura on this one.

I also don't understand why they were dressed identically

Its like Charlotte doesn't realise she is supposed to be booed and the whole point is the baby face gets cheered. All she had to do is run with it, let the crowd hate her and set Tiffany up to get some pops. Instead she gets flustered and does what she always does and trampled over the other person's promo. At this point she's just really unprofessional.

She is awful.

Charlotte was horrendous. She seemed surprised to be boo'd. Wasn't sold on Tiffy until now.

The previous promo between them where people say she "cooked" Tiffany, it absolutely looked to me like she was going into business for herself and it was the surprise going off-script by Charlotte that had thrown Tiffany off.

I felt the same. She also did it to that Irish lass where she dropped the title on the floor, which I saw a clip of... She got hit with her own medicine now though.

It feels like wwe been a bit lazy with it given the European crowds have carried the shows.
Raw has been better imo but SD has dragged a lot.

I agree with those who say the first night triple threat could have had the winner head into night two to make it a triple threat to give the match more meaning.

Cody/Cena had some good promos (recent one the best) but I think given it's been in Europe and rock not appearing once since the chamber feels odd from a storytelling perspective.

I've enjoyed gunther However since the rumble especially recent stuff. Maybe his best stuff of his title reign
Had this same exact thought. They've relied on crowds keeping the shows interesting, whereas last year the road to wrestlemania was legit interesting.

Take away the fans and the road to mania this year has been average overall with a couple of cool moments. Means mania should be a banger...right?

I think Charlotte is a very good wrestler

Agreed about Roman’s teeth. I’d probably get fresh gnashers if I were rich. But I wouldn’t get those ridiculously white ones

I hope so. Some of the matches could be great on it's own merit

Also glad people aren't fooled by this whole GOAT thing that WWE push for Charlotte. She has had some really good matches but then also some real stinkers.

She's been flustered by European crowds before. Her awkwardness with Nia and Becky before too. Whatever this thing now is with Tiffany, feels like she got a taste of her own medicine. I do hope she doesn't win at mania but I can see WWE doing it - but think they made a mistake with trying for weeks to have Tiffany as some sympathetic good guy.

UK lot, just seen, looks like dynasty tonight is included with prime. Was never gonna watch it but if it's free or charge (per se) and I'm not working monday, might as well!

Isn't it £19.99 on top of the Prime Subscription?

I don't currently have prime, but they let you cancel after one day for a pro-rota refund, so if they don't offer me a free trial when I try to order something in a minute, I might fleece this if it's genuinely free with the subscription.

I dunno how to post screenshots but when I go on it, it says included which I'm also quite confused about

That's what I'm seeing too... are you seeing the £19.99 option next to it though? (assuming you are a prime at the moment)

Like that's wild marketing, "Have this for £19.99... or join prime for a month for £7.99" - Reminds me of BT asking like £30 for Wrestlemania while the Network showed it for £6 a month, at least that was two different providers though

AEW PPV's don't miss to be fair.

I'm also confused about the pricing. Included in Prime or £19.99?

I'm seeing absolutely nothing about 19.99

This is half true a believe, The Rock is famous for writing his own promo (Cena pointed out it was on his arm which caused real heat).

In there attitude era, there was little scripting and it was more how you surmised.

Vince then changed, and still today most promos are mostly written, unless you are one of the top guys proven on the mic.

Roman used to be hated and that was mostly due to the terrible scripts he was given.
