Ward-Prowse would be a great move, much rather this than Sabitzer. Solid for around 5-10 league goals from midfield.
He's a grafter and feel we're lacking that edge of the box mercenary in our team for cutbacks and would be great for setpieces.

Tielemans is a free agent so relegation will not affect his price or availability. The rumours are that he is looking for huge money. !!
Totally agree he is a useful asset for teams that have enough cover at CDM and CM who can progress it but that's not us right now
He's good at one thing, passing the ball successfully to teammates, but that one thing would make him a unicorn in this side.

If you took Fred and magically made him a good passer, taught him how to shoot, and he became an expert at dead ball situations, he’d be JWP. People ask if he would solve our perennial midfield quandary, well, he’d be an upgrade over 3 players who feature regularly, so I’d call it a net gain.
Lavia, Maddison, Paqueta (but his position is not a priority|, as for Rice I would want him only if really cheap and I doubt that he is ok to play second fiddle.
I’m intrigued by Paqueta.
He was arguably the better player out of him and Bruno Guimaraes at Lyon, or so I’ve been told and also from looking myself at their comparable match stats/ratings.
He’s had a tough time at West Ham, but he could be a signing we can snap up on the cheap if they go down and he has the ability to play as an 8 and cover Bruno in the 10 position. Hard worker, technically great, tenacious tackler, scores goals, Brazilian flair, what’s not to like?
My preference would still be someone like De Jong or Bennacer, but he’d be a decent shout if those aren’t attainable.

I don't even know where to begin here, but this is just wrong.
He did already fail at Milan remember. Plus I’m sure he’s 25/26. Not that it matters much but his trajectory isn’t very upwards.
And Bruno failed at Udinese. People developer differently
Not saying he’s without risk by any stretch but comparing him and Bruno G (who has be very good since going to Newcastle), Paqueta was arguably the better player back at Lyon. Being at 25/26 isn’t a bad thing either IMO.
I think he has underperformed this year, which I put down to a new league, not playing deeper where he is more suited and his team as a whole hasn’t worked this year. He’s not performed to his max potential I’m sure and I’d be confident in saying there’s a lot more to come from him in a better side.
As I said, he intrigues me and that he’s worth considering if more obvious targets arent gettable.

I don't really get the clamour for Maddison. He's very good but he doesn't solve any pressing needs in the squad right now, and we do still have a number of these issues that need to be addressed.

Totally agree, everytime I have seen him he looks passive and soft, not a battler . I don't see a lot of them so may be wrong but my overall opinion is not worth chasing at all.
Unpopular opinion but I think Mount would be better suited to our system as he can play as an 8 as well as a 10. Maddison is more of a silky player but not as effective in my opinion. He is also too injury prone.
With Mount's contract situation I don't think we should be bidding any more than 40m. I can see him going to Liverpool though as they're desperate for midfielders.

No one from Cafe seems to be interested in Ndidi. I bet in last couple of seasons everyone wanted him , some instead of Casemiro.

All three of Lavia, Danilo and Onana being relegated as of today. Think all three are really intriguing in different ways.
Danilo is the one I would be really interested in from a cost/value perspective. He has been really good for Nottingham, can play as both a No 6 and No 8. Very good technique. Good compete. Strong legs. He isn’t there yet, but would be a very good understudy to Casemiro and CM depth.

Lavia is one we should be looking at very seriously, he's looked super impressive most times I've seen him which is no mean feat given the team he's currently in and who he's being coached by. Would cost probably half of what we'd be quoted for Caicedo.

Leeds and Leicester both played some nice stuff today, they are just shy of the drop zone though. Sure to be some bargains in there if/when they drop.

I think another really important thing to remember is that the attributes that make a player stand out in a relegation fight won't necessarily always translate well to a club aiming for regular Champions League qualification and an eventual title charge.
Georginio Wijnaldum is quite a good example to demonstrate my point. He wasn't awful at Newcastle but he wasn't really a fan favourite either because he wasn't the sort of all-action player that tends to be more valuable to a side without the quality to control matches. With that said, Liverpool identified his potential value to a side that did have this quality and his transfer was a resounding success.
This is sort of why Tielemans is still probably the most attractive option for me from the relegation threatened clubs. He wouldn't necessarily be my first choice of midfield options in the transfer market, but I do look at him and think he wouldn't look entirely out of place in the side we're ultimately looking to become.

Ndidi still worth a gamble ? Remember he was very popular on here a few years back. Has his form totally dropped this season? Haven’t watched much of Leicester
