How can you let a knob-end like Yorke seriously affect your title challenge?!
How much would it have cost to sack him and sign Di-Canio? or just sign Di-Canio and let Yorke rot in the reserves? (as you appear to be doing know anyway but without Di-Canio)
I think when we're talking about the long term positives of a plc your constant bringing up of one recent point seems to be clouding your judgement, not to mention clutching at straws...
Why forget £28 and £19 million purchases of other players?
I think the decision was made as a matter of principle rather than a money issue, as the recent released figures clearly showed buying DiCanio would have been no problem...
Also, having two players on 50 grand plus a week is also more costly than having one... I know clubs band about figures like that every day, but it's still alot of money and I still disagree that having Di Canio would have majorly changed the course of the season...
