Does my head in the way they talk about Bruno, yes he does occasionally flap his arms but Bruno absolutely clearly supports his team mates, you often see him applauding their efforts etc.
 
I love Keano but he's talking about shit here.

There is a legit concern about his body language and moaning but I think he's improved this a lot in the past few months.

Regardless, he leads the way in terms of effort every single time, and he can back it up with ability and output as well. For Keane to suggest he makes zero positive impact on those around him is ludicrous.

Timing wise I love the fact this was recorded before, but released immediately after one of Bruno's best games where he not only smashed it but was massively supportive of Wheatley on his debut. You can see a lot of the players look up to him, and he seems like a really decent guy off the pitch as well. Oh also, he played with a broken hand. What a toxic bastard.

For whatever reason the ex-United players seem to hate him, with the very worst example of this being when Neville claimed he was asking to be subbed off in the 7-0. He should have apologised for that obviously made up inflammatory nonsense.

And he seems to be very, very appreciated by the dressing room. It's again a tiny emerged part of the iceberg that has formed a narrative that he (or in fairness anyone else) won't back down from.
 
Been enjoying this on YouTube. Vastly prefer it to TV punditry which I've never liked. The conversations remind me of when I used to work in TV on football shows and the discussions that were going around whilst watching the current round being played out.

A question unrelated to the content: What are these chocolates that they eat, that Keane and Wright love? Sort of cylinder shaped with white filling.
 
Apparently Rooney is joining the cast. How's that going to work? It already feels packed with the 5 of them and it will be even harder for Jill to get a say.

Maybe Ian Wright won't do as many? It sounded like Neville had to convince him to do the show in the first place and with him leaving MOTD soon too he might want more free time.

Would be a shame, the banter between him and Keane is one of the best bits.
 


Sounds like it could be some new shows and the odd guest appearance. Maybe filling in on rotation like you say.

I always got the impression that Wright left/is leaving MOTD in order to sign a punditry deal with Sky next season. He obviously loves spending time with Keane.

He was even on MNF football recently. It feels like it would be a natural next step due to the work he does with some of Sky's biggest pundits already.

Id say Wright is charismatic, Neville and Cara equal. Keane, I agree.
Overtime Rooney may come out of his shell abit and get more accustomed to the camera but, I must say, the previous Overlap episode with him was quite abit dull.

I think they're fine to listen to on topics related to football, but that's about it - same as Rooney, who is probably more introverted.

They're not people I'd particularly want to go out grab a drink with though. Keane, absolutely.

Yeah exactly, they do a lot of player interviews and other things outside of the main show. Part of me dreams Sir Jim has lured Keane back in some coaching capacity to the club for this summer.

I mean he's about as useful for modern tactics as you or me. His analysis on Sky is purely there to be clipped and put on socials because "Look Roy Keane got angry about commitment and work rate again".

Keane is a constant cliché. He has his catchphrases and that's about it. His knowledge on modern tactics is lacking. Last week he was lamenting why they pass to the keeper in the middle of the goal instead of off to the side. It is a small tactical nuance but he couldn't see it. Of course, he is also funny and engaging, which is why he works on TV or this type of show. You don't always need to be the tactical genius and Keane is sort of the representation of the everyman fan. Still, you know what he is going to say about any topic before he opens his mouth.
 
Keane is certainly more tolerable on the Overlap, though his tired cliché's still come through now and again.

keane has previously stated he knows why its done...eg if the GK has the ball then he has 2 defenders to pass to and creates 2 near outlet passes for any press (plus draws oppositon forward to create space behind) , he just doesnt get it in terms of a successful tactic as it normally either goes long (in which case just let the defender do it) or there is no press and the pass is easy anyway so negates the need again.
 
Wazza is actually quite funny. He also talks about the game well. I imagine like Neville it’ll take him time to settle in to a groove

Yeah his media personality is basically just one liners and outrage but he has had a decent coaching career, I think he's probably quite a good coach and most ex players speak well of him. Also coaching teams are huge and very few of them are tactical specialists, we might just need a new Phelan to put the cones out.

Roy has excellent (and funny) one-liners and that is why Stick to football is great show for him. More serious shows (where you must do analysis) are not for him. But to be honest, it is not for any of those guys from Stick to football.
Gary just moans about United all the fecking time but again, he is too scared (polite?) to criticize individuals. Roy talks only about work rate and passion and Carra wants to praise Liverpool and everything about Liverpool. I don't know what to say about Wright except that he seems as a nice guy.
Stick to football is great show for all of them but they should stay clear from any other format.

I am curious how Wayne will do it. I miss some good and objective pundits without agendas. Lineker is closest to that.

I find Rooney has interesting things to say and obviously had a great career worth talking about. However he’s not very eloquent or natural in front of camera and comes across very boring. Shame because there’s interesting stories to tell but he’s bad at telling them.

Mini rolls. They do some with just a cream filling and others with a cream and strawberry (or raspberry?) filling.

I enjoyed Rooneys episode. If I want to watch people try to be funny I'd watch a comedy show.

Too much of today's football shows concentrate on trying to be funny and with all the 'bantz' when imo talking about football, dressing room antics, mentality in certain situations etc is plenty entertaining in itself.

Keane and Neville know more about leading a football team than Bruno and every person in this thread combined.

He’s a quality player and would be an even better one if he had a proper captain in the team who gave him a bollocking every time he was needlessly wasteful with the ball.

I’d imagine one reason they don’t like him is because he’s quick to shout at a youngster in the squad, but nobody has ever seen him give Rashford a talking to for walking about the place with a puss on his face.

Good footballer - poor captain. It’s not his fault there’s such a lack of leadership at the club but I can see why the likes of Keane and Neville get frustrated with him. A Man United captain needs to be beyond reproach. It’s not simply enough to be a talented player - you have to lead by example in every single game. He hasn’t done that, even if he’s put in a couple of decent displays recently.
