The Official Manchester United Podcast: 4 new episodes added with Ji-Sung Park, Phil Jones, Tim Howard & John O'Shea!

Summer Break
Morning troops.

Seems like there is going to be a bit of a break regarding the Official podcast over the summer with the Euros nearly upon us so no new episodes for a while. They are releasing some older episodes to listen to so if you haven't had the chance go back and check some of them out. One's with Cantona, Berbatov, Rooney and loads more well worth looking into.

Chicharito
Morning troops! The official United podcast has started doing their weekly shows again so will be posting in here weekly for anyone who fancies a listen. Will also be posting the link from Spotify and hopefully that will be easier for youse to catch it on.

The 84th episode with Javier Hernandez. Chicharito tells the amazing story of how he was approached by Manchester United while he was playing in Guadalajara, and how it brought him and his family to tears. He spoke so passionately about the pride of being a United player and how it takes more than just ability to be able to make it at Old Trafford. The Mexican International also reflected on his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson and what he thinks of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side of today.

Paddy Crerand

The 85th episode with Paddy Crerand. Here from the Manchester United legend himself, Paddy Crerand. Hear about the titles he won, the scrapes he got into on (and off) the pitch, and how the dressing room had a unique bond. Paddy speaks about tales of George Best and how he'd actually feel sorry for the opposition defenders who came up against the flying winger. Finally, he talks about the 1968 European Cup win's after-party, revealing which song Sir Matt Busby was singing for the rest of the night.

Tom Heaton

The 86th episode with Tom Heaton.

The former Manchester United Academy goalkeeper is back at the club and hear him speak about his experience coming through the ranks under Sir Alex Ferguson, and why he eventually had to seek first team football elsewhere. The England international recalled playing back at Old Trafford for Burnley where he made a string of great saves, including a Zlatan Ibrahimovic strike that nearly broke his arm! Enjoy troops.

I've not listened yet but I've seen a few quotes on twitter and it looks like he talked about some transfers. Confirmed we were never interested in Sneijder.

If it was a podcast by someone other than Man utd then I'd love to watch. But it will just be rehashed PR shit.

Nah, Fergie is worth listening to regardless. I could listen to the old man all day

Sir Alex

Here it is troops, the one you will (probably) all have been waiting for!

The 87th episode with the great man himself, Sir Alex. 60 minutes with the Boss. Stories about Cantona, Ronaldo, about being the gaffer and so much more. Need I say anymore??

Enjoy guys.

Didn't get a chance to last night so will try and get this listened to before the United game. What a magnificent man and great to see him doing well.

This podcast has not been on my radar. 87th?! Will listen for sure. Any particular episodes from the past people would recommend going back and listening to?

Yeah there are some good ones like Cantona's and Ole's but even the ones from Lee Sharpe and Ben Thornley are great. Whenever the players talk specifically about signing for United is always good to hear but some like Fortune talk about their lives growing up and and their stories are incredible.

Brilliant. Thanks for sharing that.

Ji-Sung Park

The 88th episode with Ji-Sung Park. Ji talks all about his incredible journey to Manchester United, which involved starting football at a late age, arguing with his parents about wanting to play and even going on hunger strike to get his own way! Ji reflected fondly on his special years at Old Trafford and his close relationship with the fans, but he had a request of the United supporters - he asked them to stop singing his chant which has offensive connotations to the people of Korea.

Phil Jones

The 89th episode with Phil Jones. Phil gave us an update on his fitness and how mentally difficult it has been watching from the sidelines. He reflected on his career so far, including the highs of winning the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson and an incredible performance versus Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Tim Howard

The 90th episode with Tim Howard. Tim opened up about his challenges growing up with a Tourette’s Syndrome diagnosis, and how playing football was a way for him to free himself from the hurdles it put in his way. He also talked us through his time at Old Trafford - adjusting to the pace of training, picking up his first silverware, and vying for position with Roy Carroll.

John O'Shea

The 91st episode with John O'Shea. Sheasy had so many iconic moments; nutmegging Luis Figo, the chipped goal against Arsenal at Highbury and the last-minute winner at Liverpool to name just a few! He told us all about that and more, including the tough lesson he learned at the hands of Roy Keane, and why he thinks Sir Alex trusted him to play in every position at the club.
